Bottom line, it's okay to play Destiny solo. Learn to accept that some gear will not be obtainable. Most importantly, respect that others enjoy these modes and deserve some gear to chase.
I think this is the most important takeaway from your post. As a solo myself, I don't understand why this is such a hard concept for others to grasp. I can't be bothered to do the raids, trials, or nightfall, in what sane world should I expect to receive those rewards? One thing I will slightly disagree with is the difficulty of reaching max power. That, to me, is my end game. I may not need it, but it's what I chase. I'm not against the changes to progression completely, but it would be nice if they made those exotic drops worth while again. It would still take some time to hit max, but it would ease the pain ever so slightly. They probably won't, and I'm fine with that. It's just a thought.

 • That 400 light level will likely be blue gear in the first week which will be about 2 weeks after this stuff starts so no big deal on the imaginary chase they are putting in there to have people scrambling for that BUT soon that light level we shouldn't worry about is something we most certainly should as they are returning light level advantages to pvp. Not sure what play modes will have the light level advantages applied but soon light level will matter again and at that point this crap of gating light level to the extent they have in this DLC shouldn't be a thing.

 • That I can certainly agree with. Maybe add a chance for high level drops from crucible? I really don't know what the answer is, but when light/power does matter in crucible, there definitely needs to be an answer of some sort.

 • Strange isn't it how they always lock these things behind elements of the game no one is participating in....

 • And you know, the changes from Warmind would be fine, if the exotics still dropped above light/power. Even if it was just 1 point higher, it would be just one more reason to keep playing.

 • Maybe the next time they have a summit they should invite players of the game that are playing the game not those who all cried then went and streamed anything else they could until they realized that wasn't paying their bills so they decided they would tell Bungie what they needed in the game....

 • I think most of the people who give the feedback that putting light level increases in the raid are coming from that perspective. They chose to play the game solo, and chase level as their reward (stemming from the long history of games where the goal is to reach max level). Making the only way to reach max level in the raids is a negative experience for them. Of course they are going to give that feedback. The vast majority of solo player feedback is NOT that all rewards should be available to all players no mater what their engagement level is. That is the smallest percentage of people posting on the forums. Most of the time it’s that players want more options not less.

 • I can certainly agree with that. And while more options is certainly better, it isn't impossible to hit max without raiding. It's just very time consuming and excessively grindy.
