Just popped in Destiny on the Xbox one S
Omg, absolutely incredible.!!!!!! 4k up scaled looks mind blowing.. Can't imagine a native 4k game.. And UHD movies Holy Spirit sticks it's amazing.. And the system is gorgeous. Smaller than my ps4 too.. And that controller 😲😲😲😲😲😲

Edit: I humbly retract my argument. I took my own advice and double checked and saw that it does in fact upscale games. While there won't be any performance increases, it still upscales. So my apologies for trying to sound like a know-it-all.

4k TVs have upscaled lower resolution signal inputs since hitting the market... The one s has not magically changed or introduced any config that was not already possible using the exact same equipment that you needed to exploit it.

6 RespuestasI'm surprised it's much better to be honest. Glad that it is if so. Up scaling something of a lower resolution to higher means spreading something with less lines of resolution over more lines, thus generally degrading it to my knowledge, I could well be wrong though. Like when blue ray dvd players came out that up scaled old dvds, taking a 480 line picture and spreading it to 1080 made it visibly grainy. Like I said, may well be wrong, may not even be right with the numbers, it's been a long time since I worked in that industry.

There is no way you actually believe that your console magically turns 1080p into 2160p. Upscaling will never produce better quality than native (and I mean that as in 1080p native is better than upscaled 2160p). Please don't tell me you believe the whole 'magically increase resolution of a terrible picture' nonsense from TV shows as well? Edit 2: The only other reason I could possibly think of (apart from placebo) that makes your game look 'sooooo' much better is if you have a straight up abysmal 4K TV. 4K tv's ALREADY scale up 1080p content to 2160p, so if your 4k tv had an absolutely terrible scalar, (in which then the Xbox One S will scale instead of the tv, and as the Xbox one S probably has a reasonably good scalar (not hard due to the mathematical relationship between 1080p and 2160p), it will look better than your tv's scaling) then there should be absolutely no difference whatsoever.

4 RespuestasI just got the XB1S last night too. Must say, I'm pretty pissed off :p It won't recognise my UHD TV as supporting 4K! So it doesn't even try to upscale :( Literally the only reason I got it was as a UHD Blu Ray player and it can't even do it...
