Gear makes no difference in normal PVP, I get killed by some seriously old gear.
That favourite gun you have, that long range shotgun or final round sniper you love will still work in PVP
Doing bounties, doing story / mission or going on patrol, in fact everything but top tier content that favourite crutch of yours is still going to be relevant. Its only the top tier content that it might not be relevant for and probably only new top tier content.
No one is telling you cant keep your fun shiny gun only that you might find some new exciting ones if you try.
Get a grip guardians, embrace the change and look forward to new BETTER loot.
EDIT 1: If your coming on here to argue that your old gear will be better than the new gear then your argument is invalid. If the old gear is better then the new gear then your old gear is still relevant so you have nothing to complain about.
If your coming on here to argue that you just want to keep the old gear and don't want any of the new gear then you need to put down the controller and leave it alone. New DLC or game is for exciting new gear, not the old gear.
EDIT 2: Look, if your old gear has better damage than the new gear are you going to use the old gear or the new gear ?
Your going to use the old gear so not ascending old gear or using new gear doesn't matter.
If the new gear has better damage output because you cant ascend the old then the new gear still has better damage output and is therefore better.
What is the problem ?
EDIT 3: If your aurguing about an exotic then its a waste of time as no one has said yet that they wont be able to ascended.
Those that say they havent used the crap HOW gear are probably using a matador or party crasher with there ash factory, btrd or her benevolence while they say this. Some HOW gear is crap (dregs promise) but a lot of its good gear and I use plenty of it.

8 RespuestasThe problem is that some people are telling people that they CAN'T keep their favourite gun because "It will become useless". Even sources like the Planet Destiny articles on the subject use phrasing like
We saved the most bittersweet bit of info for last. Yes, it appears our Legendary Weapons and Armor will not be joining us in Year 2.
which sets up this idea that you will literally not be able to use these weapons and armour in the new content. They attempt to clarify this with
Your Fatebringer isn’t going anywhere, but it’s not coming with you into the future, either.
. What do these statements even mean? They are the sort of fanciful prose that emanates from the keyboard of DeeJ. Some people interpret them as "you will not be able to use your old weapons in new content" others as "you will want to use more powerful new weapons in new content" others as "you might as well dismantle your found verdict because even oracle disruptor is going to be left useless because new weapons will be so powerful". What would be nice is if the so called journalists would stop regurgitating DeeJisms and start asking questions like "What does that mean in layman's terms?" or "can you explain this line in your press release without channelling your inner lovelorn poet please?"

I'm just gonna steal this post, I thank you in advance
-
Maybe i don't want to play pvp? Maybe i think pvp is shit?
-
I'm okay with all the not ascending year 1s to year 2 if they increase the vault space so I can go run a dragon strike (or whatever the new one is) with my Fatebringer, and have my collection to brag.

4 RespuestasDear god it felt like every other word was stuff

6 RespuestasThe new stuff only being "better" because it's damage is higher is exactly why it's upsetting. Much of the HoW stuff was worse functionally (perks and stats) but it started at a higher damage. At least we could still ascend the old stuff to make good gear be able to match the damage output. If the new expansion provides weapons that have solid perks and stats and compete with old weapons on a functional level, then I'm excited about them. If the only thing better about them is damage output, then our effectiveness in end game situations has been reduced, because when we were 32 in 33 Crota, we had awesome perks. 34 in 35 PoE, we had a broad choice of awesome perks. If we are now 40 against 41 enemies with crappy perks, then we are not as good because we were not allowed to ascend our older weapons that worked better functionally. Even if new weapons are functionally equivalent, I'd still like to see old weapons ascended because it will continue to provide increased variety over time. A good solution might be to delay the ability to ascend those weapons. This means players will try new weapons and like some of them. They'll have friends saying that that one Taken sniper is way better than Her Benevolence and Predyth's Revenge (and post-nerf, than Black Hammer, may it cause Hive to rest in peace eternally).

I think the changes will make the game more enjoyable but they should of allowed raid weapons to be upgraded

Editado por az350z: 8/5/2015 4:09:31 PMI LOVE that all current legendaries are getting left behind. That said, it will still be pointless to use old guns in Crucible, because you can only use them a portion of the time. Bringing in half-damage guns to Iron Banner and Trials will be a lost cause. So why even stay used to the feel of them when you'd be constantly flip-flopping to new guns for the important PvP modes? Pointless.

Haha, I just love the title of this post.

To sum it up Nerds are cry babies. They need a job. They need a girlfriend. This is a game. This is not real life. Get over it. New shit is coming. Wtf is the point in collecting gear, idiots. I'm going to have fun, and all these cry babies can suck their thumb.

1 RespuestaYour first edit is so full of retardation. You clearly didn't think that through before posting it.
-
1 RespuestaWhy not both? I just want more storage, so I can keep my old beloved weapons tucked away to pull out on the odd occasion, be it for pvp, bounties, releveling a character, or whatever. At the same time, I'm all for trying out new awesome gear. HoW was, for the most part, a great example of why we need gear progression. HoW has next to no weapons worth chasing. Why would anyone choose the Wolf weapons, which have fewer perks than standard legendaries, and are far less useful than the other raid weapons, over almost anything else?
-
3 RespuestasBetter loot? Where was this better loot in HOW? Or in TBD for that matter.
-
I've already said this. Crucible levels don't matter, that's why I've seen videos of people wrecking with the Khostov. That's got a damage output of about 19!
-
I usually pre order a within 7-3 days before it drops
-
3 RespuestasThey may bring an upgrade material out in future DLC like HoW did. They only said the we wouldn't be able to upgrade our weapons 'at the start' of TTK.
-
All comes down to impact and range when in PvP. Stability is a must on some gun types and reload helps but isn't necessary. That's why people ran with the khvostov before the AR nerf.

Editado por Willie Killigan: 8/5/2015 2:15:27 PMAt least someone is taking a positive approach. None of us, not GI not Planet Destiny have experienced everything Year 2 Destiny has to offer us. If your so butthurt about what's coming in TTK, don't buy it, wait for user/pro reviews then make your decision if it's worth your investment. Saying this or that when you haven't experienced the new content just makes you look like an unruly child.

That final round sniper will be useless in pvp
-
Yeah and everyone is complaining their bored with the game but they don't want anything to change like wtf
-
It remains to be seen if it is better or not. I'm not against new loot, I'm not even for relying on the old gear. If I find something to replace my old gear, I will use it. All I am for is CHOICE! I would simply like the ability to choose how to play the game in a way that I enjoy, not a constant state of Thorn or -blam!-ed. So, please consider that.
-
3 RespuestasBetter loot? Lol. You saw the HoW loot right?
-
1 RespuestaAs long as this new better loot isn't just one or two single best sets of armor and weapons...

3 RespuestasEditado por CountyCheese770: 8/5/2015 1:34:06 PMI won't complain, won't bitch about, won't get buttburt about any of the new changes. If I don't like it, I won't pay for the new content. Simple enough....
