So I got a DLC exotic without getting the DLC...?
I did the nightfall this week, and I got an legendary engram. I was a little disappointed, but I decided to turn it into the Cryptach anyways. Upon turning in my engram, I got the No Land Beyond primary sniper rifle. Now, I've heard this gun sucks like a vacuum on overdrive, but I'm very curious as to how I got this weapon without purchasing the DLC. May anyone shed some light as to how this is possible?

2 RepliesYea, through all of the complaining ppl fail to appreciate all of the free content given to those that did not purchase the dlc. You can get L31 and have 331atk weapons without buying tdb dlc and all we hear are complaints on the forums. Not saying you're complaining, just using you as an example. Grats on your find.

Edited by Tenth: 2/9/2015 12:52:58 AMYou only need the DLC for the Missions, Strikes and Raids. You CAN buy DLC faction gear and weapons, and you can get a DLC exotic reward. I've seen it from friends that do not have the DLC purchased. Bungie stated this before the DLC came out.

You don't need the dlc for dlc gear lol This was one of the first things they told us prior to TDB.

you must have the dlc as you are wearing a dlc chest piece on your hunter.If you have dlc without getting the dlc. I forsee a shitstorm coming down on bungie from everyone who paid to get those same items.
