How long is this agreement between Activision and Sony again?

Because I have people telling me it's a ten year contract and other people telling me it's only for a year. Please someone tell me because I'll be salty if it's 10 years And if your gonna make a claim please have a source to back it up

    • If you are talking about the exclusives for this game. They are exclusive to playstation until fall of 2015. The 10 year contract is a deal between bungie and Activision. To make 4 games in 10 years.

      • Exclusivity is not a good idea. It wasn't a good idea when Microsoft did it with Halo and it's not a good idea now.

        • The destiny franchise is a 10 year plan. The timed exclusives (the Sony/Bungie deal) is for a year, which is up in September.

        • Well, I believe the exclusivity is good for all destiny games, like cod and Microsoft, I think exclusivity will still be good when destiny 2 releases, I don't have a source but taking in consideration how other titles work, it should be the same but as I said, I don't have a source

          • The plan for Activision and bungie with destiny as a franchise is a ten year plan. The exclusivity deal with Sony is supposedly up some time this fall. So kind of like a bunch of "extra" content for us Xbox people this fall. Glass half full and what not.

          • Well I did get a chance to read the original contract from 2013 and it stated that it was through the life of destiny 2....

            • To our knowledge, the Sony/Activision agreement regarding Bungie's 'Destiny' lasts a year. We do not know if it will be renewed at the end of 2015, or with Destiny 2. The ten years refers to the Bungie/Activision agreement, which is for the duration of Destiny's lifespan believed to be 10 years in 2012.
