This really annoys me. If I'm using a rocket launcher (for instance) and think I need to switch launcher to one with more suitable perks for the situation, why do I lose leads of ammo?
This happens across primary and secondary weapons too.
WHY!? IT MAKES NO SENSE!

You don't lose ammo on primary swaps. Special/Heavy you lose half if you switch mid mission. If you have armor that increases special/heavy ammo capacity then you lose ammo every time you hit a cutscene, die, or go to orbit. If you switch out your special/heavy in orbit you don't lose the ammo.

1 ReplyI agree. I have three rocket launchers, one for each type of damage. So....but wait. Maybe that's why, you need the correct type of rockets for the launcher, arc, solar or void. Never mind.

2 RepliesGhost turns found ammo materials into appropriate ammo type. If you switch weapons whatever is in the gun is lost. Only reserves will stay because they haven't been converted yet. TLDR: Space magic.

It's synthesis. You need to covert your ammo so energy is lost in the conversion.

Ever tried putting a 9mm round into a colt .45? It don't fit! So even if they are both "hand cannons" by this games terms...the ammo is different.

While they may be the same class, they don't ll take the same ammo. Makes sense that you would loose a little...

Different launchers take different rockets. Just like in Battlefield you don't stick an RPG in a Stinger.
