Before I begin, let's make this clear: 1. This was inspired by "We the Gunslingers" by Dash Woodson 2. This is by no means an attack on other Classes; instead a post to entertain 3. I see fellow Guardians running around, preaching that they are [i]greater, better than us.[/i] I am here to put this to rest. Us Titans, we stand at the heart of the fire. The flames that guide our determination are the causes for our strength, the flames born in battle. You face The Darkness steadfast, unfaltering. You face unspeakable odds, and yet you remain, a beacon of hope in the vast grasps of The Darkness. To those who now doubt their abilities, to those who've lost a sense of place in the ever-growing universe, let me show you the way. I will show you the pride you doubt, I will show you the passion you've lost, your beacon. Allow me to show you the [i][b]Titan's Pride[/b][/i]. Us Titans, we were the first called to protect The City. When Humanity began to crumble, the Traveler's Ghosts brought us from Hell to lay waste to The Darkness, they brought us from Heaven to lay divine judgement on those who opposed us. They brought us back to stand at the ready, to face The Darkness. Us Titans, we [i]built[/i] the Wall that protects The City. With our own two hands, we constructed that which served to protect the last remaining pieces of Humanity. Our fathers, our mothers, our ancestors gave their [i]lives[/i] to protect that Wall, to protect us. [i][b]Humanity[/b].[/i] Many think this was for naught, when the Fallen Houses rallied to the cries of our frightened. The Fallen Houses invaded, and they almost succeeded in sniffing out the candle of which our lives represent. But we stopped them, just as we had at the Wall. Who was it that led the Defenses at the Twilight Gap? Who was it, when the Houses invaded, stood at the batteries among his fellow Guardians, leading them against an unimaginable threat? It was Lord Saladin. Representative of the Iron Lords, he led the Defenses and served as the Light in the coming Darkness. [i]He was a [b]Titan[/b].[/i] Who was it that stood his ground as their Defenses weakened, and threatened to shatter? Who was it, at the Twilight Gap, that led the Counter-Attack that [i]crushed[/i] the invading Fallen, returning peace to The City? Lord Shaxx, he led the Counter-Attack that saved our City, and today he serves as the handler of the Crucible; he remains in the City training future Guardians, prepping them for the enemies they shall face. [i]He was a [b]Titan[/b].[/i] Who was it, like Lord Shaxx, who fought under the mentoring of Lord Saladin? Who is the man who stands at the end of the war-room, while Ikora studies her books, while Cayde studies a map; who is the man who coordinates the defenses of The City, who serves to lead the Guardians against the coming Darkness? Commander Zavala, Veteran Guardian who has endured a life of struggle and hardship, he stands before us as our guide. [i]He is a [b]Titan[/b].[/i] Stepping away from the City to venture out in the wilds of Venus, who was it that suffered the loss of his fellow comrades and could not recall, who was it that overcame the Templar, the Oracles, the Gorgons, and stood to face Atheon himself? Who fashioned the shield out of their own Armor, infusing it with their Light, sending it into the timestream to weaken the Vex, and strengthen future Guardians? It was Kabr, the Legionless. He entered the Vault of Glass, and while he was not alone, he stood alone against Atheon. He created the Relic, and although he is no more, he gave us the weapon to which we use to fight Atheon. Kabr was [i]a [b]Titan[/b].[/i] For those who waver, let this be a message to you. Hunters may have incredible weaponry, Warlocks may wield the power of the Traveler, but we have something they don't. [i]We have history.[/i] We were the ones who built the Wall, and we were the ones who defended it. We were the ones who stood against the Fallen, and we led the charge to defeat them. We are the ones who train our descendants, who born warriors anew in the flames of battle. We are the ones who lead the defense of The City, protecting Humanity. We ventured into the Vex, and we give Light to those who stand at the ready. [i]They were Titans, and now we hold the torch.[/i] No matter who stands against us, we will rise to the threat each and every time, and we will continue to serve as the unbreakable will of our fellow comrades, in the doubt which plagues us.
