I spent 2 hours and 4 wasted attempts at doing nightfall with randoms on the forums yesterday all level 28+, ended up getting sick of it and ragequitting.
Then I returned and decided to try solo it to discover it was sooooo much easier solo?!?the all the enemies had much less health including the captains who's shields took much less effort to drop.
Ended up clearing it first try without much difficulty, even the final boss could only take 20-25 precise sniper shots and I also noticed that in a team during the final boss sword vandals and captains spawned multiple times however I didn't encounter them at all solo.

1 ReplyThe sword vandels and captains are due to people sitting in the starting doorway. Tell your fireteam to stay outside and they wont spawn. Its an anti camping mechanic

1 ReplyI usually bring one friend at least that way one of those pesky animal codes don't boot me to orbit..

Every enemy gets more total health by a % when there are two or more people there. I have no clue if they change their tactics yet; I haven't looked at it that closely.

It is.

1 ReplyEdited by NeXuS: 10/16/2014 10:40:19 PMEnemy difficulty scales based on the number of people in a team. If you're reasonably competent, you'll solo the nightfall easily. Just remember to bring along a weapon that does the elemental damage of that particular strike. This week my Epilogue annihilated everything. Pro tip: Remember to bring ammo packs. Those captains you mentioned spawn when someone remains behind the door to the boss room. The best spot against septic tank, is the little room on the left just as you enter; mobs do not enter that room, leaving you free to pick them off one by one.

1 ReplyYea it depends. What you said is right about enemies but the issue is one lucky grenade or misstep and it's back to orbit but with a group you have a chance at a revive. Lucky for me I have good skilled friends to play with. The one time I did it with randoms they turned out to be good people and good communicators and we beat a nightfall easily

3 RepliesOn solo you will do much more damage and face less enemies. Strikes scale with the number of people in your fireteam.

4 RepliesI do it for the sake of getting loot and being a good friend. I like to see my friends get good shit when we work together.

I do it solo and it does seem easier...
