How do you get the Dead Orbit shaders?
I had assumed that you would simply get them by going up the ranks with rep for Dead Orbit. Them being about three shaders for Dead Orbit that I know of, I thought you would get one with each rank because that made sense. So far, I've reached rank 1 with no luck of a reward. Folks have said that you need to get to a certain rank to get the shaders and then you'll receive them in the mail, but I have seen absolutely confirmation of this. Hell, I don't even know if they're in the game at all, but I don't see why they wouldn't be.
I saw someone else say that you still get nothing at rank 2 and it has me worried that I am wasting rep on Dead Orbit for nothing (yes, I honestly just want a black shader for once since the outfitter lady doesn't restock worth a damn). Can anyone who has reached rank 3 please confirm whether you get it at that rank? Or at least tell me you get rewarded the shaders eventually.

Get lucky when ranking up Dead Orbit. Currently rank 15 and no shader yet. I did get an emblem though.

First, you must rank up to dead orbit rank 3. Then you must continue to rank 5 while earning nothing but ascendant shards and motes of light. This is where you begin the five stages of grief. Stage 1: Denial "I'm just unlucky, but Ill get a shader next rank." Stage 2: Anger "What the $&@! I've hit rank 10 and still nothing?!" Stage 3: Bargaining "Alright, Ill go until rank 15 but if I dont find one by then Ill quit." Stage 4: Depression "Why even bother? Ive done over thirty ranks and I havent got one shader yet. ill never get one." Stage 5: Acceptance "Rank 40 and I finally got bittersteel and... Its ugly. I wasted so much time on this thing. Oh, well. At least I have Goldspiral." At least thats what happened to me. Bittersteel is the most common shader and probably the only one you will get. If you even get that one. And its no more than a chatterwhite with black trim. Do something fun instead.

Edited by ChaosVengeance: 1/16/2015 10:12:05 AMFirst, you need to buy one of the two specified class item from the Dead Orbit Vendor. Next, you have to build the rank up to level 3. Finally, for every rank after 4 you will receive a package at the Post Office from Dead Orbit. Unfortunately, it depends on if you have lady luck on your side when you open them. There are three different kind. I am Dead Orbit level 13 and no shader. Friends have gotten it at level 5 and another finally got it at 25.

I don't think there are any shaders for factions. when u buy their armor u will have their colors

Edited by Daiabare: 9/14/2014 8:07:07 PMI looked the other day, I didn't see any shaders that he sold. The shaders I have gotten were from redeeming codes and then a couple I got off strikes and the polar oak one I use now I got from crucible.

I didn't even know there was shaders for factions, good to know. I got something in the mail after reaching lvl 1 in Future War Cult, can't remember now what it was but it wasn't a shader. I want to say it was 2 rare weapons but don't quote me on that.
