How fast could a human sized spider crawl?

So there was a spider in my house (very common in the summer) and I noticed he moved about .35 m/s. It was only 1.5 cm long. So I wondered, how fast could that son of a beach go if he were the size of a human. Any ideas?

 • Given your numbers, and assuming that its speed increase with size is linear. if the spider was the size of an average human ( 2 meters ) it could move at 46.66 m/sec which makes sense because all of its muscles would be getting larger as well. •
Posted by: evilcam Not very fast actually. Their bodies work because they're not very heavy. If they were as big as a human, that extra mass would either slow them down considerably, or their bodies would have to work differently.
That makes sense.

 • I'm pretty certain that it would be unable to move or find it very difficult to do so because the weight of it's exoskeleton.

 • Well, it would depend on how long/tall it's.
