Skyrim Damage Cap

As some of you may know there is an invisible armor cap of 567 in Skyrim allowing me to sport Steel Plate armor. However is there a similar sort of cap for weapon damage confirmed? I've heard rumors that is but don't know for sure, wondering if any Floodians had any info on it. It would be great to use a Skyforge Steel Sword instead of a Daedric. •
Posted by: CIint Beastwood No, there's no damage cap, just a limit on the amount of improvement you can do on your weapon because there's a 29% Alchemy/Smithing enchantment cap. So, with the Falmer Helmet/Circlet glitch you can brew a potion of 147% fortify smithing and have gear that sports 116% fortify smithing. With fortify One-Handed (or any other skill) enchantments you can do a maximum of 188% more damage with 4 pieces of enchanted gear. Right now I have a Daedric Sword that has 196 base damage at 91 One-Handed and with 119% it does 430 damage. You can also use fortify One-Handed potions and the Orc's Berserker power to really boost your damage output into the thousands.
Guess I'll be sticking to my Daedric sword then, thanks for the info!

    • It could be like world of warcraft, you still get damages reductions when you have a high armor, yet the protection you get would decrease accordingly.

(Heavy Armor 72) Daedric - 99 Dragonplate - 93
Dragon apparently is better fully upgraded

My amour rating was 952(with shield)
I think it was implemented in the first update. Whilst it says your armor rating is 952 it will behave like it is 576. It was to stop people becoming huge tanks.
This. i researched and apparently 576 is 80% damage resistance. having 900 would give the player 100% damage resistance, which would cause the game to be broken due to the fact that you would be invincible.
Oh I see. Makes sense I guess

    • Meh I don't think they would cap weapon damage but if they did it would most probably be in the 1000 range which can kill nearly anything in a few hits :3 [Edited on 01.07.2012 4:53 PM PST]

    • I hate that cap. You are better of using light armor than heavy armor. But I still used Daedra because it looks cool.

    •
Posted by: Celsbury
Posted by: The Moniter I don't understand. What do the caps? Why does it affect weapons and armor?
Basically if you have a Steel set of armor with 700 armor rating and a Daedric set at 900 they both perform the same as they are indivisibly capped at 576. I was wondering if weapons were the same.
Oh. I have no idea.
