Dragon Age 2 is probably one of the most boring games of history
I rented the game yesterday, and boy, it's terrible. It's so damn boring, all of it, in contrast to Mass Effect. In Mass Effect every single character (Except Jacob) was interesting, whereas in Dragon Age I skip almost every conversation. Even the fighting sucks. Constantly pressing the X button while waiting for the other attacks to recharge. Only the big boobs of the women do I find positive.
1/10, for the boobs.

Its not the best sequel in history, no. I do still enjoy it though. Whilst its characters have nothing on Origins in terms of depth, they are still likable. The combat is pretty simple. Basic attack complimented with abilities/spells. The 'Press A for each attack' can be turned off so that one press sets Hawke on 'attack' and you simply administer abilities/spells. On the harder difficulties, combat is tactical - not just hack n slash. The story is interestingly done but as everyone knows, Dragon Age 2 was rushed by EA. It certainly lacks the epic grandeur of Origins but still does enough for the story to be more than acceptable. I think the reviews that gave it a 9/10 were too generous, and the Origins fanboys (which I must confess to being) have been too harsh on it. As a game it is quite good. If you are going to compare it to Origins though, its a flop. Merrill is the best thing about that game to be honest. Though the upgrade in graphics from Origins was nice.

I did not really think much of the combat in dragon age 2, i remember fighting a blood mage in the first game, both our teams had gone down, it was one on one, i launched a spell, making the whole room get covered in lightning strikes, and fighting to the death as we launched spell after spell at each other, and coming out of it with no mana and having a slight amount of HP, yet i won the battle. Dragon age 2 had no such moments.
