Elites are a Predator RIP OFF!
Everyone here has played Halo (hopefully). and maybe seen the Predator movie(s). If so, you'll see some HUGE similarities with the Covenant Elite and the Predator. Personally, I'm an Aliens fan, and don't even like Predator that much. However, I've seen AVP and really thought about how Elites are really the same as Predators.
They both:
-have the ability for light bending camo (not complete invisibility)
-are aliens (to us)
-have similar looking ships
-are out "hunting" humans at some point
-wear armor
-have 4 mandibles on their faces
-are slightly reptillian
-have small eyes
the only differenceis that Elites have shields. whoopty ****in doo.

So if the Predators are such a rip off of Humans and Elites are a rip off of Predators that means the elites are a rip off of humans!!! Now stay with me here its gets crazier! Elites are a rip off of humans by a degree of 2. 2X2 = 4! Do you see it yet!!! 2 and 4, August 24th!!! [b]Halo 2 is coming out on August 24th!!![/b] Thats proved based up the rip off set off by Bungie all the way back in Halo 1! Damn I'm smart!!!

They both give out one helluva roar when they are about to tear someone apart, they are very similar, and the obviously have differences!you can just take a predator and put it on halo!the elongated the hair, made it a bit more lizardlike, colored it blue, THEN they stuck it on halo!

I think Elites look like part Predetor and part Alien, But Personally I Don't give a flying -blam!-, If Elites looked like E.T.! All I know is that the Elites want to kill humans and thats not down with me...........or O.P.P.

first off i'd like to state that i think this entire topic is a waste of time. that in mind let me waste some of your time: i don't think that a predator played a major part in the birth of the elite charector, although it may have had some influence. they're are some similarities but nothing striking. personality wise they are rather similiar in certain areas. both the elite and predator charector's lives revolve largely around a honor based system ALTHOUGH the predators are surprisingly understanding compared to elites. a predator does not attack children, pregnant women or unarmed individuals. they also do not harm individuals who are ill or weak UNLESS of coarse they are PROVOKED. elites on the other hand are vicious killer's who are bent on the destruction of humanity. also, it is obvious that....*drool* zzzZZZZZZzzzzZZZzz

An Alien warrior and a Predator are evenly matched, if the Predator is unarmed. Also, an Alien Queen can easily take out more than one predator, probably 6 or 7 (all armed). And since an Alien Queen is an Alien, Aliens are better. and for the coolness part, Predators are ugly green things. Aliens are awesome, and can easily rip up Predators.

how do you figure they are "slightly reptillian"? and i dont think the ships looking anything alike... plus those are Covenant ships, not Elite ships that we have seen... and camo is not a new concept...

This thread is a perfect example to class the people in the Bungie Forums. From what I saw there are 3 groups, the moron spammers who don't bother with spelling, grammar, or punctuation, then there is the opposite, people who actualy make cohirent statements about inteligent topics, and three the casual guy who is a mix between the two. I mean come on, "so and so is a dipstik", are you a two year old? Come one people grow up! As for the Predator/Elite thing, I've never seen the Predator films, but if everything slightly resembles another, it doesn't mean its a "rip-off". It's like saying "look that guy has a gun! hes ripping off that other guy with a slightly similar gun!" or "they're both aliens! they're ripping each other off!". Think before you type.

Bad comparison, again. -Wear armour??? Well, so does the MC, so do the Marines, so do most military personnel now (i.e. Flack Jacket). -Four mandibles, maybe you have something there, but it doesn't hold much water because of the other arguments. -Slightly reptillian, well, I don't see it, to me the Predator is still humanoid, and looks more like a rough skinned mammal, still up in the air on this one. -Have small eyes??? STFU with the predetor thing, when i saw the predetor, it looked nothing like a elite. for all you can say, the elites are similar to themutated vampires in blade 2, that is a better comparason regarding the mouth cause on predetor it doesn't open that much unlike the elite

i think the marines are ripped off of starship troopers. i mean think about it, they have pretty much the same looking helmets, if u modified the pelican it looks like a dropship from starship troopers. and the grunts in halo are bug like in a way and their blood is green like the bugs. event he assault riffle looks suspiciously like the ones used in the movie. but i think elites are nothing liek the predetor. i mean the name says it all, predetors hunt animals (aliens) while ELITE is a warior term used to descride a high ranking official. its all in the name.

Because, as we all know, any organism that can bend light and is not from Earth is a ripoff of Predators. Besides, didn't H.P. Lovecraft create a monster similar to Elites and Predators? If anything, Halo borrowed the idea of the alien from Lovecraft, not from Predator. They'd have had better results ripping off Kindergarden Cop, or one of Arnold's other five billion movies he made.
