Such as radiation from a fury tac nuke?
-
Yes. The MJLONIR armor detects and signals the level of radiation and counters it. But we dont know how much it can take exactly. The shields would eventually overload.
-
MJOLNIR energy shields have never been demonstrated to ever having any effect against electromagnetic radiation, but the armor would protect the user, though to what degree is uncertain.
Posted by: BungieChief_gov Don't know about the radiation. The Shockwave and Heat Impact would melt and vaporize the suit if they were in close proximity to the suit and the shields failed.
Well, yeah the explosion would kill them if they were close. The question is the fallout/radiation, not the explosion.

The radiation is confirmed to disrupt MJOLNIR shields, as evidenced in New Alexandria when Noble Team are bombarded by 90 million roentgens (how they managed to survive for more than a few seconds is beyond me).
-
Partially, if the radiation is enough some will go trough the armor.
-
If it's a direct hit, d' Spartan's dead...
-
The Mk IV is hardened against radiation. But since Fury Tac Nukes are noted as being extremely clean, I doubt radiation would be a major concern.
-
as was said before, the radiation itself: yes, the blast: it depends on the size and the distance from it.
-
Seeing as how they have a nuclear power source strapped to their back, I'm pretty sure they thought of that when developing the suits. lol.
-
"Yes, these SPARTANS are the best soldiers we've ever created, you could throw a nuke at them and they'd simply laugh it off- wait, what are you doing with that micorwave? No, bad grunt! Put it down now!" XD So yes, I would assume that MJOLNIR is capable of handling radiation. A) It can be assumed that super-soldiers are going to be the target of such deadly strikes and B) They won't last long going EVA without protection from radiation.
-
The suit protects against radiation but a massive amount would shut down the shields. Example being Kat.
-
Shields would be down but with enough cover you could survive the blast.
-
the radiation? definitely. the explosion itself will kill tho. dude, in the future radiation isnt a problem. cause everything is nuclear powered. that cant nuclear power everything and not expect to have figured out basic radiation hazard prevention. example: lead liner in suit [Edited on 04.26.2011 10:36 PM PDT]

Radiation? Probably. Shields would be weaker or offline due to absorbing it though. Explosion? Depends how close they are.
