I came across an Illuminati website and found an interesting article on Halo Illuminati symbolism. Thought I'd share. From an objective view, Halo Reach does have obvious references. I'd like to believe it's just for fun.

Adam Weishaupt, the founder of the Illuminati was quoted as saying he wanted to inject the Illuminati into Freemasonry before the Bavarian government banned them, which they did. And yeah anyone could easily throw symbolism into their media as an easter egg (I would! hah) but the article mentions that the first Halo and the game ONI came out way before it was hip and trendy to do so. As the article says... "Lady Gaga was 15 at the time."
-
Lol @ conspiracy theories, illuminati, and people scared of the illuminati... It's really kind of funny.
-
there not, they've more or less exposed themselves but still refer to themselves as "a Sociaty with Secrets" Its basically a club where the rich and powerful join together, using religion as a "Reason" for it, where they basically say "If you pass this law in motion, we'll let you know more secrets" or "If you dont attack this country for its oil supply, your out!" Google "Freemasons", find a list of people who are and where freemasons the list is Scarey...
Now you're mixing Freemasons with Illuminati. If you're going to be a conspiracy nut, at least know what groups you are talking about!

Awesome!

I have no doubt the Illuminati exist, but this whole "they're everywhere and taking over the world" meme that's popped up is getting out of hand. Almost everyone can recognize the eye and the pyramid (all seeing eye) as a symbol of secret society. That means almost everyone can easily throw that symbol into their media regardless of if they are a member or not. They know that conspiracy nuts will flock to their media, and more attention= more money. I know many "secret symbols." If I hid the all seeing eye into a Forged map of mine, does that mean I am a member and conspiring to take over the world? Apparently, it does. *I am typing this under my own free will. There is no gun held to my head. The Illuminati are not in my house. Good day.* [Edited on 01.26.2011 2:28 PM PST]

Anything can be made to look like a conspiracy.
Anything can be made to look like a conspiracy but why would someone intentionally want to do that? It does no good. There are no intentional references because the Illuminati/Freemasons are all about symbolizing things. Like the All-Seeing Eye. That's a symbol that represents MANY things, such as it being the eye of Lucifer. Sadly enough, it's true. Do your research.
Back then Lucifer in latin meant light bringer which is why the statue of liberty is tied with lucifer cause it meant light bringer until the meaning was changed
Yeah I know this. That is why I can't ever truly understand what Lucifer really is. If she/he is such a bad figure and makes you burn in hell, he/she(I say she because from what I know, lucifer is a female "deity" and is all about the music in heaven before she was thrown out) is still the light bringer, bringing good to people. That's what the Freemason's are about. They follow the "light-bringer". I know this because an old man who is a Freemason was caught outside his lodge and this guy with a camera went up and asked him if they are satanists. He said no but he did say the worship the light-goddess/bringer. And I love how the Statue of Liberty really is Lucifer (thanks Brad Meltzer's Decoded) LOL. But apparently not the personality of Lucifer you would think of when you throw the word "Hell" in the mix.

Since ODST came out, I noticed this. Nice find BTW, now I have something clear. [Edited on 01.26.2011 2:15 PM PST]

It's easy to reduce complex situations to simple explanations, but more often than not, simple answers are wrong. The statement that "They already have it!" (referring to take over) is a bit silly, and doesn't take into account a full view of the world and it's politics. What about China, India, Russia, Brazil, etc? Would you consider all of these other influential (and growing) powers in the world to be under the influence of freemasons and the illuminati? Of course not. Just because Iraq was invaded for whatever conspiratorial reason, it doesn't then follow that we now live in a state of new world order. There is the entire rest of the world and it's diverse people and politics to consider.

An interesting read. Some of it was definitely completely biased stretching things that weren't even close to something it isn't. I like pyramids. And plenty of things have something round in the middle. I'm not a member of the Illuminate (I think).
Posted by: drake3011 Freemasonic Illumanti members are usually elderly republicans who control the world using unrestricted wealth and power Bungie is a company comprised of "geeky programming gamers who love consipericy theories" Some people like myself are "geeky programming gamers who love consipericy theories" Personally, i think its just them sharing their ideology without basically ousting freemasonry, and thus ending up buried in a ditch scratching their bullet wounds as a cover up And now ive blown THAT out of the water, i think im gonna lock the doors, not eat or drink anything for a while and take up insomnia :P Just because i can This is the local masonic hall in my hometown
I thought the group that you are referring to here was called The Bilderberg Group. I've looked into conspiracy, and I have judged for myself. It's ridiculous. Sure, there are cults, I'm not denying anything like that. I just don't believe that A) they control the world or B) that everything with a pyramid and an eye = EVAL. It's a symbol, nothing more. Much like the -blam!- is a symbol of significance in Hindu. Just because Hitler used it, doesn't make everyone else who uses it a -blam!-. Sorry about the censors, wasn't expecting that to happen. Not going to try to bypass, anyway, you can guess the words from the context. [Edited on 01.26.2011 1:26 PM PST]
Posted by: scmitar1 I still think it's moronic that any 'evil death cult of evil' would have this much power without it having any real effect on us. What's it to them if country X attacks country Y? Sure, there are weirdoes that are in cults, but these cults aren't world-controlling or anything like that. TV shows, Films and Movies are fun, and conspiracy is fun too, but it's just stupid to assume that any of it is true. And anyway, why the hell would they put their 'symbols of secret evil' anywhere in the first place? If I was a secret evil death cult of secrecy, evil and death, and I was discovered, I'd make a conscious effort to get myself under the damn radar.
i think we know why your an "Honorable" member now :P lol, j/k But seriously, its the sort of thing once youve looked into, you cant let it past you, if you look at a masonic hall, look at their imagery, you realise just how subtle and powerful they are we're not the kind of people who are up to our eyeballs in pot smoke freaking out because the kettles got a pyramid logo on it, just look at what they do in these halls, think about how they progress Hell, even scientology is a decent, new comparison using similar ideologies Its a hell of an investigation, and i dont expect anyone to believe, just ask that people look into it and judge for themselves :)
My Grandfather was a Mason. So, by your logic, he was part of an evil organization that wants to control the world from behind the scenes? Hardly. Freemasons are just members of an organization, just like the Elks or any other club or group. Anyone who thinks any differently has something loose in their noggin.
Maybe you want to ask him about the knight templar logos they mount on their walls, or why there halls are full of thrones and alters :P I apologise for any offense caused by my statements, but out of curosity what did he do for a living?
Posted by: eleVader They eye that everyone is referring to is called "The Eye of Providence", and it has been used by many different cultures for different reasons. Many religious organizations have seen it as a reflection of the all knowing power of a god, there's the freemason connection, and it was even seen in egyptian art as "The Eye of Horus". Again, it would be hard to assert that it's presence represents anything in particular (from the real world). When it comes to the Illuminati, this was (speculation) a group that was made up of scientists, artists, and philosophers that met secretly just before the time of the enlightenment. If they existed at all, world domination was not their goal. Instead, they met secretly to discuss science and philosophy at a time when the ideas they were exploring would have been considered blasphemy in the eyes of the catholic church. The majority of the mentioned symbolism in Halo is there likely to add flavour and color to the Covenant(deeply religious alien coalition), and the Forerunners (a mysterious and enlightened civilization that protected the galaxy).
Good point about the eye of horus, BUT Does this mean Bungie members are EGYPTIAN DEITIES?

Bungie wants to take over the world... It's not secret, they just do. I mean, their plan to do so is right out in public. It was even released by them. The fact no one cares at all to take a second glance at it shows their power. All hail Bungie!
