CURRANT errors hit almost exclusively during session creation — matchmaking, joining fireteams, landing at destinations. Once I'm inside an activity the connection is stable, but transition between zones can randomly take up to a minute+.
When i log in i get 1-3 CENTIPEDE errors before i'm allowed to choose a character.
CABBAGE has also happened a few times but i don't remember the context
Setup: PC, wired ethernet directly to router. ISP is TIM (Italy, FTTx) with their stock TIM HUB modem/router.
Works pretty much flawlessly for other games or navigation, 900Mbps download, 300Mbps upload on speedtest.net
Tested so far:
- Port forwarding for Destiny 2 ports → no change
- UPnP enabled → no change
- Replaced ethernet cable → no change
- Removed the switch between PC and router (direct connection) → no change
- Phone tethering on mobile data, same PC → **works fine**, so the PC and game install are cleared
- Confirmed public IP (router WAN matches whatismyip)
- Static local IP + PC in DMZ, old port forwards removed → partial improvement, errors still frequent
- packetlosstest.com, UDP, nearest EU server: 0.0% upload / download / late over 2800+ packets, multiple runs
- Ran the packet loss test continuously while playing and got a CURRANT mid-test — graph completely flat, 0.0% loss at the exact moment the game errored
So line measurably clean during an active error, DMZ applied, and joins still fail. Remaining suspects on my side are basically the TIM HUB's NAT/UDP handling or something past my ISP entirely.
Note: never had any problems outside of DLC launch days before, i had uninstalled the game a few months ago and it had no issues at the time, error started after i reinstalled with the Monument of triumph update; i've also tried verifying game files and doing a clean uninstall-reinstall.

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. These issues affecting some players with Italian ISPs have been flagged to the team, and we can confirm they're looking into the situation. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

1 ReplyI'm also from Italy and using Tim with their stock modem. I also don't have any issue with any game outside this one. I contacted the ISP and they told me to use a VPN. So in installed a freeVPN (proton) and didnt get any error message since then. But still it's a temporarely fix. I shouldnt be forced to use a VPN to play a game that i just bought (expansions) expecially since i was able to play it fine 3 years ago without any issue with the exact same setup.
