game crashes when the witness boss fight begins
hi there
in final shape (iconoclasm mission) game crashes right at the beginning of the witness boss fight. it's started after the game update, it was fine yesterday. I tried both on my PC and through the GeForce cloud gaming service

Same issue here on PS5, none of the 'fixes' work. Returning player after a year off, came back to see how the game was doing...Guess I'll play something else

Same issue here, on Steam. Suggested fixes have no effect, still crashes at beginning of Witness boss fight.

and you didn't see when the first expansions came out, I've been playing since 2020, but there were so many crash bugs like these that I don't know how the game managed to stay alive today......

I have the same issue. When Witness appear and starts doing some shiny thing my game just turns off. I will try the advice of hiding from Witness but... that's not how it supposed to work, right?

+1. Tried not looking at the Witness as suggested by others, and still crashed. My fault for giving this game 100 chances to redeem itself LMAO.

Same thing over here, tried to get the Microcosm Exotic and tried doing the Cooperative Team Mission and the second the Witness showed up, it crashed the game. Provided zero error code and then just killed the game. On PC playing on Steam.

just happened to me and my bodies tonight. started the witness fight and all three of us crashed

+1 - Iconoclasm mission crashes on Xbox when looking at Witness during the first attack, didn't occur when the Witness was obscured, but once the camera panned it locked up and crashed the game

Edited by A_Litany_of_Fury: 12/5/2025 9:13:03 PMSame issue but the game only crashes when I turn the camera to face the Witness. I don't have to aim down sights, only turn and face in that direction. If the Witness enters the field of view at all, the game immediately crashes.

Same, on PS5 Pro. Game will crash to PS5 home as soon as you look at The Witness.

1 ReplyDear god fix this, I spent hours doing this mission. It became a dont get spotted stealth game instead of failing you crash every single time you see him or he sees you for more than a sec. I tried to see if bungie was doing well after giving up and now im here wondering why I installed.
