When do you get tier 5 gear?
I can’t find a reliable answer anywhere, a bunch of different posts saying different things. From what I understood was that once you reached 450 and got platinum A+ scores it would be guaranteed tier 5 loot as the drop. I’m -blam!- doing exactly that and still getting tier 4.

It starts at 450.. not far after that everything tier 5 like 475..before the 550 increase at 450 . Everything was tier 5

I’m guardian rank 7 over 500 power I started to get tier 5 after 450 especially from trials

I think on top of being at least 450 power you need to be at least Guardian Rank 9 to make T5 stuff drop.

I got some tier 5 weapons but only about 4 tier 5 armor pieces amongst all my characters. The FOTL helmet we got today was tier 5 for me. I’m around 440 power level

Once you get tier 4 drops you can get a tier 5 through prime engrams. You won’t get them reliably until 450 though. If you want them before any of the conquests after like the first 3 give guaranteed tier 5s.

Then at 390 you can start doing GM conquests which will drop 4 pieces if tier 5 gear. After hitting 450 light and being guardian rank 9 they drop on A grades in portal activities.

Got a teir 5 helmet and teir 5 gauntlets just playing grandmaster fireteam ops over the last week not sure how or why. I’m low 400’s

That’s when I started getting T5 loot, but I was also guardian rank 9. Getting a B in crucible also rewards all T5 drops at that LL/GR. At least that has been my experience.

Have a look at the rewards for the activity to see what grade is required for t5. Generally this is what I know through levelling: 400 gr7... t5s can start dropping from pinnicle drops. This is fairly rare! 450 gr9... t5s are in the general loot pool, hit the rank for the reward.

What's your Guardian Rank? You need to be Rank 9 minimum and >= 450 to have T5 like it's raining men.

At 450, it slowly progresses but at 470 it rains.

Rank 7 400-449 for high chance. Rank 9 400-449 for higher. Rank 7 450+ guaranteed T5s. Make sure to get the score high enough with mods. My experiences.

Am I mistaken or do you not have a 450 level character? Highest stats I saw was 446 for two pieces

You start getting 100% T5 from 470 for PvE and 450 for PvE and Kepler, except for poor grades

It’s raining T5s for me in Trials, Crucible, and 3-Feat DP. I don’t really run all that other nonsense.

2 RepliesAt 450 you can play crucible for tier 5. I only started getting them consistently from other sources after 470

Normally it’s a chance at 450 and guaranteed at 500 For seasonal events like Festival of the Lost it’s a chance at 350 and guaranteed at 400. All of these are assuming you are getting an A rating in PvE activities and a B or higher rating in PvP
