During my livestream, a new player told me they couldn't complete step 6 of Taming the Storm. The reason was that after completing The Devils' Lair at the launch base, the quest didn't enter the countdown for completion. After testing, I found this to be true, and even completing The Devils' Lair in the portal wouldn't complete the quest. After asking around, I've discovered this issue is widespread and causing significant frustration for many new players. Hopefully, you damned people will fix it soon.
