Hi there! First time writing here on the Bungie forums.
I created an account via my Playstation 5, but my name was automatically changed to Redacted9542. If my name were problematic I would understand it being automatically changed, but as far as I'm aware my linked account (SenaBerries) isn't some kind of slur.
I remember something saying that my name was automatically changed to this as a first time user, but I'm unable to change it here on the website. It just says I can only change my Bungie name once and never saves the name, even though it gives me suggested names based on my linked accounts.
Any help would be appreciated.

If that name hits the filter for any reason, then you get a default Redacted name instead. Sometimes the filter is overly sensitive, in your case I have no idea why it might have objected to it. But that IS what happened, so that's why you've got a default name. Unfortunately, while it's understandable that you might want to know 'why', Bungie won't go into specifics, nor make ad-hoc changes to the filter on request. Other players here may have an idea, maybe it's something in a different language, I don't know (I am not involved in content moderation itself). You can change your name via the Settings, as you've already mentioned. If you can enter a new name into the name box, this proof that you have a name change available. However if the name change does not go through, it means the name you are trying to use is also hitting the filter. The message you mention is not saying 'you can't change because you already did', it shows whether the change succeeds or fails. Trying to re-use the name that was already rejected is one example of something that will get rejected, same for using too close a variant. Note that the 'suggested names' thing does not run the names by the filter, so yes it may suggest something that won't actually get accepted. You'd have to try other things until one goes through. Whatever you try, make sure it's something you are happy to go with.
