Man have they gone down hill! Either the game straight out lies about what it is or it's some bs gacha game.

It was free when I picked it up years ago, not sure now. I believe most of the revenue is from donations and it's supported by just one dev. It's a roguelite that has been updated continuously for 10 years now and is still being updated. Originally a mod of an open source game called Pixel Dungeon, so you can find other variants of the game too. Sprouted Pixel Dungeon is also a lot of fun. I will also recommend Slice and Dice, it has a demo too if you want to check it out for free first. No ads on either game.

FFVII: First Soldier was good but they scrapped that. Really should have released it on PC/Console. Lost opportunity there. I enjoyed ZZZ (on PS5) but would have preferred to just buy a full game over the gatcha model.

I don’t know, I feel like they’ve always kinda sucked. There’s been a small handful that were good, but I can think of maybe 5 in total that were decent. A big problem with the mobile market is that it’s 90% F2P, though. F2P games are almost always very cash grabby.
