Void Hunter Subclass needs a PVP Nerf

Best grenade in the game and only grenade that can instantly 1 shot. Best self buff in the game (excluding titan bolt charge abuse) which renders you completely immune to radar with very low visability as long as you are not sprinting roughly every 15 seconds, best melee in the game with the ability to both slow weaken damage and obstruct vision of those caught in it with a grenade distance range as well as the ability to provide the invis buff, the best class ability in the game being hunter dodge + invisibility, arguably the best aspect in the game giving wall hacks on one player with high frequency, and now one of if not the best roaming supers in the game which is almost unkillable immune to radar etc. There is just too much that is either overly strong or best in game on this subclass now. And as more players catch on we will see this subclass and its cheesey effectiveness dominate trials and comp. The subclass retaining some of its current power is acceptable but with literally everything being busted on it as of now brings it pretty close to what broken prismatic hunter was last season. I welcome any hilarious arguments trying to state otherwise. EDIT ONE: Player usage rates are demonstrating this with void hunter being played at 14.9% this weekend in trials even above arc titan bolt charge cheese at 14.3%. EDIT TWO: Best nerf I can think of would simply be vanishing step and trappers ambush should just extend the cooldown on dodge and smoke mine the same way strand clone extends the cooldown on dodge. keep the ability powerful but make players atleast have to be mindful when they use/spend it.

      • DO YOU PEOPLE NOT KNOW WHAT POWER CREEP IS? Void hunter wasnt THIS strong until everything else got nerfed. Yes radar manipulation has always been good, but it requires some semblance of skill or attentiveness. Bungie doesn’t understand balance. I could balance this game’s entire roster of exotic weapons better alone in 15 minutes without even knowing their engine. I’d bet my life on it. I’ve studied game balance since i was 14 and took game programming in college. For one, Jotunn should be the same charge time as high-impact fusions at LEAST to fix low level PvP cheesers. It can snipe at far more distant ranges than any other fusion. Hierarchy of Needs could be buffed substantially or given the GjallarBow perk everyone wants it to have and it would still be utter trash. Bolt Charge needs a massive retune on the build rate. Heir apparent should not be getting 90 rounds in PvP, LOL. They forgot it existed when they added magsize-based LMG ammo pickups. Truth is useless since bipod and envious got added. And wtf is the point of alethonym’s catalyst? It couldve been a must have for ammo production during even raid races if the catalyst did SOMETHING useful. But no - ONE FOR ALL. We dont talk about Lord of Wolves. I dont know how they thought that was a good idea. I could go on, and on, about obvious changes that needed to be made years ago. (Except Bolt charge of course.) I’m pleased that in Episode:Heresy Legendary weapons are getting better and easier to farm. But i HATE having about 3 or less exotic weapons be viable at a time. No one wants a “rotating meta”. I dont know why companies think people do.

              The individual effects of most Nightstalker abilities aren't an issue, but they just do too many things IMO. Smoke is a prime example - this one ability pings radar, does damage, slows movement, prevents sprint and double jump, obscures vision and applies Weaken. On The Prowl is now similar; it's invis, target marking (no wallhacks but the enemy glow is very visible), weapon buffs and ability regen that all apply to the whole team. It's only minor, but I think this map has influence on it too - the purple of invis blends in to the background of the outside section much better than it does on just about any other map.

                • The only problem I have with void hunter is that the 4 aspects are all focused on the main complaint of hunter - Trappers ambush (free invis) - Stylish (invis after debuff) - Vanishing step (free invis) - On the prowl (invis extender) The main complaint I have is, what else should void hunter build into because all of their main "gimmicks" aspect wise is just turning invis in 4 different ways

                    Can’t even remember the last time I got instantly OHK’d by a scatter grenade lol. Spectral blades is one of the easiest supers to kill in my opinion IF the team is coordinated enough. It’s definitely a noob killer though. That aside, I do agree that smoke bombs do way too much for how available they are. Definitely could use an adjustment in that department + something regarding invis as well. Not really sure what would be best though.

                    • Invis hunter is the biggest skill gap closer in the game. You can take a 1.0kd player and put them on invis hunter and they’ll be able to compete with 2.5kd players easily. Invis + smoke is so insanely broken, especially in high level pvp, that it’s not even funny. I have played this game for almost 7000 hours and I have been a top 0.1% player the majority of the time I play this game and I can say in my personal experience the hardest games of my entire play time have always been against void hunter. I would rather player versus any other class in any other meta 20x over every single day than have to ever queue into a void hunter ever again. Invis should not take you off radar, smoke bomb needs a huge increase in CD along side a huge nerf to its affects and invis itself should be more clear to see in game with a better outline. Even then it would still be insane and annoying to place against but at least it wouldn’t make the games so miserable.

Bolt charge is obviously a problem, hunt has too much uptime in pvp especially with rdm, though I rarely saw rdm in trials.                             • Adapt and overcome. I know I have. Work on your skill level you will either get better or you will find that you will get to a certain skill and cannot proceed further. Adapt and overcome. Quit looking for your easy way because it will not come. You're cheating yourself if you keep looking for the easy way. Just enjoy the game for what it is

                                          • Honestly I simply can’t see invis. They dodge right infront of my nose and just disappear. Then followed by a smoke. To me it’s the same level as the pre-nerf strand hunter threading thingy.
