[i]Seeing as I am posting this on Thursday after having discovered the following on Tuesday during my playthrough, please excuse me if this information comes too late to be of use, if any/all of it has already been covered elsewhere or on the off chance any of this has been patched out since Tuesday. And please be mindful of potential spoilers throughout this post.[/i] Here is a list of hopefully helpful observations from my Solo playthrough of Kell’s Fall on Expert difficulty and my experience unlocking all four Catalysts for the Slayer’s Fang Exotic: • [b]Catalyst Quest Step Three - Expert Mode Completion (Fikrul Boss Fight Optional)[/b]: I’m listing step three [i]first[/i] as it is the most time sensitive of the Catalyst Quest steps; progressing the Act III Quest too far will apparently lock you out of this option on a given character. The Expert difficulty for Kell’s Fall unlocks after your [u]first[/u] completion of the Mission (make sure you grab the Catalyst Quests before you attempt a Expert run). If you launch Expert before moving to your second/third playthrough of the Mission you will face the Hangman as the final boss and will not have to worry about limited time damage phases during the final encounter as is the case with Fikrul. I can confirm from my experience that clearing Expert difficulty in this fashion counts toward both the [b]Legendary Slayer[/b] Triumph as well as the [u]third[/u] step of each Catalyst Quest (make sure you complete steps one and two, listed below, before going for the Expert completion to avoid any unnecessary repeat runs). As a further note, I have since competed a Solo run of Expert difficulty with Fikrul as the final boss, for anybody worrying I may have had it too easy. • [b]Catalyst Quests Step One - Tonics[/b]: This is fairly straight forward but for those of you who have not yet done this, having an active Tonic while doing a run of Kell’s Fall should result in you quickly completing this step for the four Catalyst Quests as you can easily farm all of the kills you need during the first Trickster encounter before you enter the Keep. To the best of my knowledge Step will only gain progress within this Mission. • [b]Catalyst Quests Step Two - Anchors[/b]: Three smaller points regarding the Anchors that need to be destroyed using Slayer’s Fang to progress the Catalyst Quests. - With Slayer’s Fang equipped, you can ADS using [u]any[/u] of your three weapons to make the Anchors visible. Equipping a primary with greater zoom and better screen visibility may help you to more quickly locate certain Anchors throughout the Dungeon (although you will have to switch back to SF to destroy them). - Especially helpful for Solo players, progress toward destroying Anchors persists if you die or wipe, meaning you can throw caution to the wind hunting down the Anchors that appear during certain encounters as you [b]do not[/b] have to survive through to the end of the fight to get credit. - Tied to the previous point, Anchors destroyed within Darkness zones will respawn if you wipe. If you are having trouble locating an Anchor or two during a given encounter you have the option to simply wipe, begin the battle anew and destroying the previously located Anchor(s) as many times as necessary to complete this step. [b]Addendum: While the Repulsor Brace Catalyst Quest may appear on your alternate characters, it only has to be completed the one time. You will be able to Craft/Reshape the Exotic on your alts with all options previously unlocked and the Quest itself does not block progression of the Episode Questline, so you can Abandon the repeat Catalyst Quest without issue.[/b] [i]Edit: Apparently accidentally referring to [b]Expert[/b] difficulty as [b]Master[/b] distracted from the main point of the post for a couple of readers.
