Why Do We Need Power Level In Trials?

Topic post. I want to play Trials, because I enjoy it, but I don't want to have to farm the Raid or do Pinnacles.

  • Deterrent for cheaters. When someone gets banned they have to level all the way up on a new account to play again, along with buying the latest dlc again.

    • You can't play it anyway, you need final shape

    • To discourage new players from going in getting bodied and never touching trials again

      • So 1900 players aren't going in getting 1 tapped, leaving their 2000 level teammates at a disadvantage

          • It serves as pretty much the only kind of restriction that ensures, that not everyone can queue into it and ruin the matches of their teammates. It is endgame PvP after all. Id prefer a requirement that is actually about PvP instead, but I guess that will never happen. Of course this wouldnt be necessary, if they just used a ranked based competitive mode for an endgame mode, but I guess that is one of those things were uniqueness takes priority. Competitive should have been what Bungie made trials.

              • Because Bungie likes to push players into doing activities they don’t want to do, or play areas of the game they don’t want to play. It’s the same reason PVE players always complain about having to do PVP and vice versa.

                • Trials take into account certain cap when doing trials. Anything above your fine and anything below your not. Artifact power is pointless if your at the cap This prevents cheaters or anyone under light from playing. Its a top level PvP activity

                  • It’s to slow down and try to deter cheaters. If they have to grind and pay to get access to trials, it should theoretically decrease the number of cheaters in the game. Not sure how good this works in practice though

                    • I thought it was to make it harder for Chester accounts etc, not sure though But if they have hacks idk if being low light would stop them.
