ICONOCLASM IS JUST EXHAUSTING…
Going on maybe my 20th try (I don’t even know anymore) over the span of two days and never thought I sucked so bad at this game until now. There’s just way too much going on at once and now I don’t even know what I’m dying from anymore. Games are supposed to be fun. Not so gruelingly difficult that you end up quitting and hating it. Get the second Subjugator down to a fraction of his health then I just die. And YES I’m shooting the nodes. It’s just tiring. So I guess I won’t be finishing this campaign. 😞
I guess this is finally where Bungie has kicked my -blam!- to the point of making me want to quit. This is no longer fun at all!!!

1 ReplyThe date is 09/02/2024 and I watched some YouTube videos and the amount of enemies I’m getting compared to these other players is insane for me the adds spawn back to back you kill one and it instantly respawns you do damage to the boss and more adds spawn lol I’ve played this game along time and this mission is bugged. I spent a whole day trying to get the mission done but I have come to terms that it’s not worth my time. I even had friends join up and they agreed it was bugged because it wasn’t that bad when they were doing it either. This shows that some of us are actually playing different games

I used Dragons breath with mountain top, and on solo it could melt very fast

1 ReplyLittle tip I picked up for dealing with the subjugators is using Levi's Breath. Levi's stun locks them and does a huge chunk of damage. Use Levi's for the first half then switch to grenades / supers for the second half. For the nodes start of the right hand side of the room and work your way over to the left. Use cover wisely while picking off enemies. Rinse and repeat until the fight is done 👍

I largely gave up on doing it on legendary, [spoiler]because I would get about 3/4th of the way through the fighting and get suspended with the shield and then just get deleted. [/spoiler] I recommend if you haven’t already run it on normal learn the mechanics in an easier setting and unlock more of prismatic; then try again with better tools. Good luck, you got this!

Stasis is easier as you don't have poison, but you have to watch for crystal explosion damage. Strand first phase is the easy part, second phase make sure the bubble is close to left or right not dead middle. rush either right or left to avoid the weavers and subjugator. get away and rebuff on darkness, clear transcendent weavers and do boss damage. My suggestion is Dragonsbreath for DPS and passive ad-clear from burning fuel.

7 RepliesI tried to get across to bungie all these difficulty increases was a bad idea an promotes more toxcity in game hence some of your replys below like skill issue not even offering help like loadouts etc and in the long run it would push players away from d2 I bought my freind witch queen deluxe he loved the campaign but he also managed to solo it on legend fast forward to lightfall I bought him just the dlc he was unable to complete lightfall legend campaign solo ,I even had to help him get the exotic bow quest done ,then bungie announced increasing the difficulty again so I decided it was best not to buy him the final shape thus time round since I don't want him banging his head against a wall struggling to play the game btw the player I'm talking about I won't name but he has probably over 2k hours in this game Last activity he struggled with was onslaught trying to get to wave 50 which he was unable to unless I joined his fireteam just so d2 devs have an idea how the average player struggles with such content especially since not everyone watches streamers for builds or guides since it shouldn't be mandatory but with d2 it's starting to be . Lastly if you do come back to d2 I hope your able to complete the mission or possibly cheese forever has a solution for you on yt I hate promoting d2 streamers but cheese atleast makes most content bearable for players best of luck guardian

10 RepliesOMG I’m so sick and tired of this stupid game!!!! Every freakin’ time all the enemies pile up on the node and wait for me to have to go shoot it, then kill me! Excellent gameplay!!! You’ve really outdone yourself Bungie. 🙄 I officially HATE YOU!!!! 🤬 Luckily there are no curse words allowed on this forum. Whenever I’ve watched anyone else’s gameplay, the enemies don’t go that far back. They pretty much stay in the open arena, so why am I only having to deal with all the enemies (including the Subjugator and the Witness coming back behind the pillars and flanking me from both sides?! How the hell am I supposed combat that?! And while I’m trying to fight off adds to get the node, the ones that are left pile on the node knowing both my health is low and my timer is almost out and they just kill me. At this point I feel like the game is just trolling me and really trying to make me quit!

It’s nice to see the community band together like this on the final chapter in the dark/light saga. I just wish Bungie was as committed as much as the community now is. I wish they understood that gameplay challenges should be fun, not torment. I know I could easily finish this with one other person as I’ve pretty much got the mechanics down to damn near perfection, but I was determined to finish the campaign on Legendary on my own. However, since the game keeps throwing BS at me to make me want to quit and therefore not enjoy the rest of what The Final Shape has to offer, I consider this a major Bungie fail. I’ve put in my time and never gave up for three days and counting. I know my single small opinion won’t matter to them, but I will express it anyways. It’s a sad feeling that after spending 10 years of my life with this game that I can’t celebrate it’s conclusion because of BS mechanics that egotistical devs think they need to torture us with because they take some sick pleasure in watching us fail missions over and over again. So I guess this will be the gate that unfortunately shuts people like me out. People who want to just enjoy the game and have fun.

3 RepliesJust watched Esoterrick’s solo run (as well as many others) and the enemies are NO WHERE NEAR as aggro as they are in my runs, neither does the Subjugator ever come to the back of the map, so WT(FRACK) Bungie?!!! The gameplay should be fair to everyone. Anyone in doubt please look at my Activity Feeds. What’s happening in my runs is absurd and I think I have a right to be angry!!! Now on my third day of trying to finish this one mission! This is RIDICULOUS!!!!

Having run it solo, then helping some friends and clan mates through, a couple of pointers. When the subjigator spawns, use an AOE super to damage it and clear as many of the adds near it (i use nova bomb). Those adds are honestly higher priority than the subjugator at that point. Then clear some flyer adds in your area. Now you can start to take down the health on the subjugator. Staying in the middle rear, the subjugator will start to move between the statues more than if you are at 4:30 or 7:30 areas on the arena (viewed as clock with 6:00 being dead center rear). The air poison cannot kill during second subjugator, it is like standing in a slow titan barricade as far as damage, but will take you down to 1HP. Prioritize add clear and not taking damage over rushing to get the buff if you have enemies near it. During the relic phase, you can be killed, so keep shield up and stay over the fissure to have light energy to power the shield. As soon as the shield depletes, jump or slide to the side for cover and start to work on adds. If playing with teammates, if anyone dies, all players should renew the darkness protection buff.

I changed my mind, this boss fight is not just exhausting, it’s literally stupid! I’ve gotten the second Subjugator down to a fraction of his health several times and EVERY FREAKIN’ TIME either it or some random add gets off a lucky shot that kills me instantly before I can kill him. On my last try a few moments ago, I actually killed him at the exact same time he killed me (uploaded to my activity feed). I’ve never seen a game so determined to not let us win. It’s frankly disgusting. Like what is Bungie’s goal here?! To make it so disgustingly hard that people just give up and not want to play?!

1 ReplyOnce you shoot the blights you can go into the back hall ways for cover. Something we noticed later. Also, kill that second subjugator and you've basically beaten it. I think it's better with two. One to throw down stasis tornado on hunter, another to follow up with some one and done damage super. Then a few rockets.

2 RepliesIt isn’t that bad. If Legend is too hard then play normal. The map is covered with cover. You have Red Death now that’ll keep you alive and healing Nades. You guys are just way too used to getting hand feed things. If you play the hard version, expect it to be hard

It took me 3 attempts in legend solo, you just need to keep a cool head and use cover.

1 ReplyI duo'd the last mission on Legend and even then it was pain. It's mostly just the very last part with the Strand Subjugator while having to constantly refresh the buff. At least twice those stupid weavers also launched me right into the Witness's attacks which fueled my frustration. Still prefer this over Calus imo. At least I can hunker down to regen health if I need to.

I feel you bro! I just finished the campaign this morning on my warlock and was getting so frustrated! I play everything solo so for me you have to damn near be perfect and make no mistakes or you die!
