Why doesn't well of radiance grant radiant?

It effectively does. While in a Well of Radiance you get a damage buff and all your weapons can pierce Barriers as if you were Radiant. The only thing that’s mildly annoying is that it removes Radiant and Restoration from you so you can’t continue to extend the buffs with solar kills, you have to reapply them.

2 RepliesThe Well of Radiance buff is radiance AND restoration (albeit on steroids). The only difference is that to combat requiring it in DPS WoR no longer stacks where radiance does. The real question is this: Can you seriously not get radiance? That is about half the point of the solar subclass. I sneeze radiance. Why WoR is seriously overrated.

It technically does, but only while you are standing in it. However, it is bugged currently so that if you have a current Radiant buff (or even Restoration) then it removes it. This is probably because it grants a higher tier of those buffs and once you step out of it or it fades away, it removes all of those related buffs.

Fun fact: Standing in well when popping golden gun will do less damage than self-granting radiant and golden gunning outside of the well
