I imagine i cant be the only person who feels like they keep giving money to a company that keeps taking away what you've paid for. I've spent hundreds of dollars on this game and you keep taking away my purchases and it honestly feels criminal. Not only do we pay for the content you don't even fix the real issues with the game. crucible is barely playable with the amount of cheaters in the game maybe you should be making the trials portion of the game only for the paid players.
On another topic Why is there no big team battles or something more for pvp? maybe spice things up as you added ghosts to finish maybe implement a game mode where you can eliminate a player from round by finishing their ghost like the invaders in gambit can finish the ghost to keep them out longer or something. Maybe create a BR type mode where the start of the match your ghost just wakes you up and you from there loot and shoot to survive against other players/ads.
I really truly love the game but I fear its dying and you should be looking for more ways to improve it.
Thanks for many great hours of fun but please fix things and make the campaigns repayable.

1 ReplyI love it how people are delusional and obsessed with steam player charts when there’s tons of people still playing the game and doing their dailies so no it’s not dying far from it this is just some propaganda baiting as usual

1 ReplyEdited by GenXer: 1/22/2024 5:48:38 PMI can't help but feel that most of this is brought on by PvP and the never-ending balancing act that entails. I look at other games such as Elder Scrolls Online and see no such thing happening. But then I think that there must be other reasons for the need to sunset and vault. Bungie keep referring to the amount of space needed to keep adding on to the game. It sounds like their game is much larger than ESO and other games that have been around for ten years and also have a prodigious amount of objects to keep track of. Makes me wonder how things are so different between what Bungie are doing and what others are doing and the effects on the player bases. EDIT: For further context (and by no means an exhaustive list), I looked at footprints on my XB1X: ESO Tamriel Unblimited and no other DLC, 113 Gb Starfield (for shits and giggles) 103 Gb Destiny 2 with all currently available content and having downloaded all editions from inception, 138 Gb Also for reference: Halo MCC, 115 Gb Forza Horizon 5 (free DL from GamePass and no other DLC), 135 Gb And a smattering of others that have been around for a while but I don't have all the DLC for such as: PSO (F2P and no DLC), 70 Gb Fallout 76 (No DLC), 93 Gb Sea of Thieves 2023 Edition (another GamePass DL and no DLC), 91 Gb

Someone watched the aztecross video and finally got their opinion.

1 ReplyIt's more of a content junkyard. Throw whatever they want in there and when they need some cheap seasonal maps or something go pull those parts while the rest rots.
-
3 RepliesJust wait until they resell what they vaulted.

2 RepliesGame is not dying. I still play everyday.🤷♀️

the pvp sTrIkE team is hard at work and very busy for the foreseeable future nerfing thorn! Stop expecting them to actually do something that fixes pvp.

1 ReplyEdited by xbroggiex: 1/18/2024 3:47:16 PMContent Vaulting is probably the biggest lie Bungie ever told. "We need to remove content because its hard to maintain and no-one plays the old content and the game is too big!" Game size wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have hours of useless dialogue of their cardboard cut out characters getting their degree in yapology. Also, Bungie is at least over 1000 employees and they get millions of dollars and they can't figure out how to maintain all this content within the game? As for maintaining content they can hardly do that even now with Dreaming City skyboxes being broken and multiple seasonal quests just straight up breaking (defiance can break if you beat Wish's seasonal quest and last week the Ascendant Challenge literally didn't work to progress the step that tells you to do an ascendant challenge) or Warlord's Ruin granting Ghost of the Deep rewards from triumphs or do I need to even mention crafted weapons bug with just clicking a little too fast in a menu? "Suddenly after removing 2 years worth of content we no longer will vault content!!!" So how do they plan on solving the issue where they keep releasing expansions... unless they don't plan on releasing anymore expansions and have been hesitant to even respond to any questions about post TFS episode/next saga content. "We can return D1 content from the vault!" They half-assed the Cosmodrome and its still unfinished and in perpetual daylight and a grimoire ghost interactable is hidden just outside of a wall in Devil's Lair disproving the whole "we need to completely rebuild this old content from the ground up", there is definitely some level of porting. King's Fall's lighting and environment detail was half-assed and looks terrible, Vault of Glass was slightly less half-assed but then D1 goblin models start popping out of the spawn doors. Crota's End uses the wrong music in the final encounter and Crota's model is the nightmare model and not the D1 Crota model. The weapon models look somehow worse than their D1 versions. "No-one plays that legacy content anyway." You either... Couldn't replay it at all (they cited warmind campaign missions for some odd reason when were not replayable at all by that point.) or... It was outdated in rewards or didn't offer up to date rewards/xp (If you got chunks of XP simiar to seasonal challenges each week by engaging in legacy content it would see enough engagement) They are never going to return this content they will continue to use it to cut corners and costs on development. Not even single gun this year outside of exotics had a new model it's all been recolors.

2 Replies“…but fear its dying…” Bungie: Killing this franchise has been a Marathon, not a sprint…😉🤣

Big team battles would be epic

Nonesense post so you get a nonesense reply :-)

People really do have a choice . Ask why do you really play destiny . Take a week off …the more time you don’t play the easier it is to stay away . Last year I started no preordering games ….I’m going to wait a few days before release of final shape .

1 ReplyStop giving them money then. 🤷♂️

Based on this post, which does have valid criticisms, I don't think you understand what it is you're paying for. Buying a license to play a game is not purchasing the content itself. You pay for the ability to play Destiny, not FOR Destiny. It's in the EULA as it is with many games. It's not great, but it is our reality. It's not criminal. it's not illegal. We can moralize till we're blue in the face but it unfortunately won't change that. And we don't have big team battles because Combined Arms performed poorly in D1. Would be nice to get it back though. More options isn't a bad thing IMO.

a part of me died when i heard destiny 2 was coming and we would lose all our stuff from d1, but i gave it a chance - just to get a recycled mida for completing the red war campaign :'D years later, after grinding our butts off for things like the leviathan weapons or pvp exclusives like luna, revoker etc. we are told we need to let go again. if this is going to happen once more, i'll lose my mind - but probably will keep playing nonetheless. as long as there are people you enjoy running and gunning with.
I've spent hundreds of dollars on this game and you keep taking away my purchases and it honestly feels criminal.
It's a good thing you signed an agreement saying it was okay for them to take stuff from you.

4 RepliesAsk yourself honestly. How many campaigns did you run repetitively for Beyond Light Witch Queen Light Fall? Recently? Which for most part are great story parts AND enjoyable/challenging stuff. Imho. Any nightmare hunts done? Aside from this season's story any Dreaming City Ascendant challenge or weekly Petra story bounty? I could go on and on. Reality for most of us is we play our most favourite activities whether it be strikes, dungeons, raids, crucible or patrol zones etc.. "Old" stuff such as old campaigns let alone old activities despite them being still available are done only occasionally. I don't believe much would change if Bungie added all vaulted content. The game has grown so big even w/o vaulted content at least I simply have no time to do/repeat everything. Too much and I can well occupy myself with the game.
-
9 RepliesIf everything that is currently in the vault was in the game, it would be like 300gb lol. Not to mention it just adds more to the already spaghetti coding to go wrong. I’m not saying I don’t want stuff to come back, I would love to see that. I don’t know how practical that would be though.

You realise you agreed to the liscense agreement right? That said that they can do what they want with the game that you lay for give you pay to have the liscense to play until they remove it. You do not own anything. Also Trials of Osiris is for paying players only, you need to have the latest DLC to play it. Battle royale wouldnt work at all for this franchise and neither would large gamemodes. Crushing ghosts would also be a bad mechanic for PvP or gambit given that would mean our character is gone for good. Its heavily implied that with gamemodes where you need a teammate to revive you that the ghost is told not to revive yheir gaurdian (Saint has a line talking about it in trials) You really dont know this game do you?
-
Red war wasn’t good Curse of Osiris wasn’t good Warmind was alright Forsaken was good. Ask yourself would you actually run the activities on the associated planets? Would you actually run E.P? Would you actually go to titan and it’s small map? No most players wouldn’t. Also last gen consoles can’t support that much content

You've known since the day they vaulted half the game what you have been paying for. A rigged License agreement.

1 ReplyThey could possibly rotate previous campaigns/raids in the legends tab where kings fall, vog etc are. Would they do it? Maybe, maybe not. Who knows?
I imagine i cant be the only person who feels like they keep giving money to a company that keeps taking away what you've paid for.
Idk why you'd "feel" that way when that's exactly what they've been doing for years & they publicly announced they would do it.

Doesn’t theme parks do this as well by replacing fan favorite rides with something else every time the license contract runs out even you purchase an yearly pass to the theme parks and nobody seems to whine about it
