I want marathon to flop so this game can get the attention it needs tbh

Yes it will flop. From the look of it, it gonna be a movement scifi battle royale which you know is over done at this point.

If it was an arena shooter I would def be interested. Except it’s not. There’s enough of these games on the market. You are taking what could’ve been the best arena shooter on the market and instead becoming another in a long line of other similar games. Seems narrow minded af.

Hoping it all flops and Bungie will finally get what they deserve. Nobody wanting to play their micro transaction filled games because they treat their customers with such disrespect. I got back on this evening because I figured why not and what’s the first thing that happens? A final boss glitched and the end of a lost sector so it became unkillable left and came back to do it again and still no luck so I goofed with it more and nope 👎 . Googled the issue and wrote to Bungie and no response. Wasted all my time and couldn’t get the final chest. I’d LOVE to see a game like Destiny but made by a company who actually values the players that are helping keep their game alive instead of treating them like idiots with bank accounts. Sadly Bungie will continue to do well unless they just make a HUGE error in judgement which I doubt will happen. Best thing I can do is stop playing and stop buying their garbage. If it’s made by Bungie I won’t buy it from now on. I hear Diablo 4 is well worth it soooo that’s a possibility.

I have lost all trust in bungie and their bs. They don't care about us at all and I won't spend any money on new games of them. I'll see how the rest of the year goes and decide if I'm going to buy final shape or not. It all depends on if they will be able to resolve the server issues or not. But knowing bungie, they won't be able to and just ignore us.

It’s an extraction shooter so it probably will. Extremely boring, time consuming, and overdone genre imo.

Dude, they are so done with this game that they are grabbing as much as they can, and Marathon will flop, I mean look at their work in this game that isn't anything to brag about at all. Enough said.

When their "Destiny Killer Game" flopped they returned to the original cash cow around 3 years later. However, none of the original devs were involved and the people they hired had no clue how to interface with the legacy code so they visually made it look different and it's a mess. All of this is ironic if one were to believe Marathon ( yes i played the original on mac os) is a fortnite killer. Marathon wasn't able to unseat Doom back in the day.

Even if Marathon flops, this game will never get the attention you desire. They will pour more resources into Marathon to prop it up should Marathon limp out of the gate.

1 ReplyMarathon will absolutely flop. Just like CoDs attempt at an extraction shooter did. Extraction shooters are a very niche genre. I don't see Bungie being able to really tap into Tarkov's players much. Furthermore, The Division failed at it, and I never hear anyone talk about The Cycle: Frontier. Good luck, Bungo. You're gonna need it.
