Taox is the Gardener. AKA the woman our astronauts first met on mars during Destiny’s conception. Bungie just changed it to The Traveler to be mysterious. She’s always been inside the traveler. She’s also basically the Mother of Hive and the Books of Sorrow are full of lies. Lies designed to subjugate and enslave their race to The Witness. It should also be noted that in the real world “TaOx” is a highly conductive metal oxide used for data storage and light frequency. You’ll never guess what metal works best for this: Silver. Gosh I wonder what Fenchurch is doing with all that silver we give him???? Working backwards we can clearly see The Traveler was a place holder in the story. The McGuffen. When conceptualized bungie literally made a “Giant ball of silver” that projects Light frequencies and stores living lifeforms digitally inside it’s dimension. A dimension outside of space and time. The Veil itself is just a copy of an artists drawing of the entire cosmos from around 2013. That’s where Bungie got the idea of The Veil. The theory goes: Quantum Collapse creates the Universe. The Veil in Destiny is just a method of travel between these two realities. Anyone who follows Destiny lore deeply also knows Destiny is all about these “frequencies.” For example “The Alpha Lupi” is a star system in the Lupus constellation. It has a planetary system with binary stars. One bright and golden and one dark umbral blue star. You’ll never guess what frequency pattern emits from this real life star system: Exactly 7 hours. (Gosh Bungie loves the number 7) All races in Destiny in lore have mentioned this 7 hour frequency. In lore the various species treat it like a “calling.” Something that flows through all things in this galaxy. Some are even highly tuned to this frequency like the Fallen. Bungie planned this all out years ago and used real world locations and science to flush it out.

But from what we know, taox managed to escape captivity by the hive. Likely, she died to old age, as the creatures on fundament do not live for a long time. But that is in terms of fundament time, so who knows if she died?

Taox is a she, to start it. She betrayed the osmium court on fundament and assisted the helium drinkers in killing the father of the three sisters xi ro, sathona, and aurash, the beings before they became the hive. After the sisters became the hive, taox fled her world and jumped to various places. The hive swore that they’d kill her. But it is unclear whether or not the hive found her.
