The reason of nerf'ing stompees because "targeting Hunters in PvP very difficult on controller" I feel like is very far from the reason they are used. If you are a good pilot of warlock and titan you are far faster then a hunter can hope to be.
If you main warlock or titan and cant beat a hunter to lane sorry to say but you are not skilled at character movement manipulation. & this is a core reason of stompees use, as so a hunter is no longer at a extreme disadvantage it terms of movement vs the other 2 classes.
But just complaining with no answer how this problem could be solved is not very constructive. So why not disable the benefit to jump while dodge is on cool down but leave sprint and slide untouched? This solves the problem of of the difficulty of targeting a hunter on controller.
But this wont be well received by the community, as I am in essence calling out 80%+ of the warlock and titan player base for for being bad at playing ther class. Heres some key terms you can research if you want to improve your game play: stair skate, scroll wheel skate/jump, bunny hop, icarus sword skate(no you dont need ammo).

Stompees getting nerfed because of “permanent uptime” but titans and warlocks exotics that are similar remain untouched lol. Gotta love their reasoning for its nerf lol
-
23 RepliesSo, Dunemarchers and Traversive Steps maintain their permanent speed buffs, but St0mp-EE5 won’t? Seems rather unjust and unequal. Especially considering that Titans and Warlocks can both skate, as well as use their in-air maneuvers. They are already faster, even when Hunters are supposed to be the “Speedy Class”. If they follow through with this nerf, shouldn’t the others also be nerfed in the same way?

An exotic which turns non exotic as soon as you use your class ability 🤔 🗑️
-
12 RepliesNever had issues targeting hunters on controller. Such a bs change.
-
The thing that angers me the most is removing speed and jumping buff while your dodge is in cooldown. I frequently go invisible and get the heck out of dodge when an engagement goes bad. So I guess the only other exotic I'd use is dragon's shadow for the movement boost. Connecting stompees to a cooldown mechanic is just so over the top scorched earth, a coup de grace for this exotic

Just use something else. Hunters are the ONLY class that hard-crutches their movement exotic. Cope.

Edited by Mareep: 5/13/2023 2:03:02 AMI think that Bungie also didn't recognize that aiming in the air with stompees is also harder with a controller
-
The amount of people butthurt about the change warrants the nerf.
-
1 ReplyThis is the best update ever, hunters actually have to use something else LMAO.
-
Good, hunters jump too much.
-
Remember when I said the hunter tears will be sweet as honey when they laughed at the shoulder charge movement Nerf? This was why.
-
Bungie should stop giving their guesses about why something is used - they'll never get it right Bungie should nerf things that are overused in PVP, regardless of "why" players prefer it Stompees is overused and deserves a nerf
-
2 RepliesLol a lot of salty hunter mains in here.
-
11 RepliesLMAO. You all (hunters) laughed when they nerfed warlock movement some time back. You laughed when they and said “about time” when they announced titan shoulder movement. Did you really think they weren’t going to take away your adderall fueled jump-jump bs crutch? Too funny bad. Mazel tov

Maybe everyone is wrong and Bungie is hitting all of our favorite exotics so that we will use other ones that we will need to purchase new ornaments for . They are simply just rounding up the herd and leading us where they need us to go .
-
You'll be fine.
-
Nah it's doing exactly what bungie wants, all the fuss now across social media is about 2 seconds swap delay and stompee. I'd say it's a success considering lag, raised prices, bugs, servers and the likes, have completely been swept under the rug. Bungie knows the puppets, they understand addiction, a Crack head will wake up if you force him sober

Wanted nerfing.
-
2 RepliesAll of these nerfs lately have been out of touch. Shoulder Charge nerf, double shotgun nerf, and the ophidians nerf. Not one of those nerfs make sense. Stomp-EE5 is no different

Edited by J a m e s 76: 5/12/2023 9:19:04 AMMost of the upcoming changes don’t make any sense. It seems like they are only trying to force us to use different gear than the gear we prefer to use, when we are the ones paying their salaries, this is really confusing to me. I realize there are sweaty people who play this game 23 hours a day and look for exploits from the comfort of their mothers basement but that doesn’t mean the entire community should get punished for it.

Who the hell is b-hopping in this game?

You didn’t have to come on here and speak straight facts. Mobility as a whole needs reworking, since titans and warlocks become faster the LOWER their mobility is. Why not make it so the buffs stompees provide is tied directly to the mobility stat of the hunter, and have it recharge the jump buffs? Or, better yet, have it so we have to hold down ‘A’ (or whatever jump is for yourself) for a specific amount of time to jump further. So if you hold it down for 2 seconds your jump is moderately improved, hold it down for 5 its like how it is now. Anyway, if hunters werent so SLOW without them, stompees wouldnt be used so much. If they had a new dodge which propelled them forward warframe style like titan charge or dawnlock it wouldnt be so bad I guess.

Bungie are out of touch, period.
-
1 ReplyMost of their nerfs are very out of touch.

1 ReplyWhat’s crazy is the “fast sharp movement” all the golds are complaining about is possible with every class. Absolutely insane how kids who are somehow getting relegated out of gold are the ones cheering for this when they don’t even know what Antaeus jug shield titans look like. If there’s a nerf to be cheering for the shoulder charge one is it. And of course the class designed around movement is getting the most nerfs to movement. Just another casual driven nerf made to make pvp “easier” when the kids in gold don’t even know what dawn blade is. (And those who do have no clue how to use it.) PS dragons shadow will literally be better stompees. Can’t wait to hear about the upcoming nerf to that next.

10 RepliesStompees nerf should've been a Stompees rework (along with every other movement exotic) and a mobility rework. The fact that Warlock and Titans can beat every non-Stompees Hunter to every map position and every lane every time, and create and close gaps faster in every engagement with deliberate minimizing of their mobility stat is ridiculous. Movement in PvP, the area of the game Bungie mentioned in the Stompee section, is ridiculously important. It's pretty much a death sentence to snipe as a non-Stompee Hunter against a similarly skilled Titan or Warlock, or to allow your opponents to gain map/heavy/zone control in Trials. Mobility should affect sprint speed, slides, and momentum gains. Then rework movement exotics.
