Gone too far for me. Unable to complete final campaign mission in Lightfall. After five plus years and hundreds of dollars spent the Lightfall campaign looks good but just too hard for me. Will find another simpler game that I can enjoy.

Edited by Dontasciime: 2/7/2024 11:54:25 AMEven standard endgame for lightfall is too hard solo when you've got pain in hand arms neck from playing a too long mission just to get there with no proper game save. Respawn locking is terrible as well. It really scrambles my mind to give up but it's not only excebating my hand pain and fibromyalgia and other tendon problems but mental exhaustion. It seems the ramping up of difficulty is just a means to give an impression that the dlc is worth it and appears to lengthen shortness of dlc pack. The destiny speak is too much as well needing to be a NERD( I'm using that term in a comedy nice way and not derogatory) to understand all the yoof terms and equipment and the language of the game is foreign like when reading a player's explanation of what you do with what and where, it's like aliens are talking. Anyways I digress. FUN has gone from game when it's made too hard to hide shortcomings and the git gud replies don't wash just like those saying it.

1 ReplyUse Strand and just wait until you’re super charges on the railing’s underneath Calus Takes forever but I got to finish it in legendary edition.
-
5 RepliesFor real they don't know it but they've completely destroyed the game everything is way too challenging and who's to say when final shape comes out there going to make it even more challenging. To the point the game is unplayable just makes me think I got ripped off

42 RepliesDo yourself a favor and bail on this cut rate button masher like most have, leave it to the no-life incels, sweats and streamers , you'll be so much happier and healthier.

Ummmm what’s so hard? Me n my buddy beat the legend campaign in a couple hours. I soloed the regular mode except for the final mission. It was pretty easy with the gear I was running. Instead of taking to the forum to complain about difficulty you should take a step back and get weapons for your play style and armor that’s high resilience, recovery, and mobility. Every other stat doesn’t play a factor in survivability. I ran a kinetic smg, solar scout rifle with candescent and good ol gjally. Heavy ammo mods to make sure I kept generating ammo so I could let off gjally at Will. Hope that helps, if you need help there’s plenty of guardians willing to lend a hand, like myself. I agree and am right there with you. I'm an old gamer that has alot of trouble with jumping and getting the hard content done. I've experienced the younger gamers don't want to play with me cause I'm just not good enough. My reaction time isn't as quick as it used to be, and I do go slower through the content then most but I still try. The streamers and the Destiny gods which scream "Too Easy" makes it even more challenging for us old gamers, and I've thought about quitting also and finding something else to play. I don't find any of the content too easy, I struggle with alot of the content. They say solo flawless lost sector to go to next rank. The raid is a nightmare and too hard to even contemplate.

I feel like the streamers not only control it all but ruin the hobby for guys like us.

Edited by Draken Wolfe: 3/17/2023 7:29:29 PMI have to agree and I consider myself a decent gamer. Not great. But I've never had problems with a story mission like this. I tried it a few days ago, got as far as killing Calus the first time - cuz apparently the way to make something challenging is just to give the boss back all his health after you kill him once - then got stomped flat. I haven't bothered trying it again, and I probably won't. Not solo at least. The entire game has been retuned so solo players got the shaft, but even if you find a team to help with Legendary stuff, it's just as hard because the difficulty scales with the number of players. Just. Plain. Lazy. Bungie, please realize you are alienating a pretty good chunk of your player base with these changes, new people are not sticking around, and long-time players are leaving. Seems strange to make changes that hurt the game and cause people to not play.

2 RepliesI hear you. I did the first four solo legendary and I don't want to ever, ever, ever do them again, it took me forever and I died countless times (very frustrating). The last four I did on classic just to get Strand (which I call Bungie cords) and then move on. Even then I had to use every cheese method I could find. Jumping, lol forget about it. I suck. Pvp nope, I'm a walking bullet magnet. Raids and Dungeons I get help from my clan which basically carries me through it. Playing on xbox console there is just no way I can find to calibrate the controllers x/y sensitivity and dead-zones. The in game settings such as ADS and Look sensitivity are not enough. My thumbs are weary. The early grind to get through the campaign has me about warn out. New things come along faster than I can keep up with. At times it's becoming more like work than play. If it wasn't for the great people in my clan I probably would have quit by now. Well, after reading through this thread, at least I know I'm not alone.

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
I play with an Elderly gamer, and he has been a hardcore Destiny player since D1, even held his own in Raids and Nightfalls, but he has stopped investing in this game because he feels like it's leaving him behind -
1 ReplySorry to hear that, but no real surprise. There is a shockingly small pool or weapons that are effective, as well as if you don;t have the equipment, or a meta build, your pretty much going to get to this stage sooner rather than later. I looked at build after build on the YT, and put one on just to finish the campaign, and from that point, I wasn't playing the game I wanted to play, I'm playing someone elses game. I cheesed the last mission under the stairs, just to have the very poor experience over I;m in the same boat as you. this weeks mission pushed me way over the edge, which was the only thing I was sticking around for, but wipe after wipe, draggin 2 guys that were somehow worse than me, revive after revive, probably trying to get higher power and better weapons, but in this version of destiny 2, it doesn't help with 99% of the activities. No room for fun anymore in this game, as its just a chore list. Casuals need not apply, it seems.

1 ReplyEdited by Zoidberg: 3/19/2023 5:20:39 AMI'm not old, capable of end-game content. And I wholeheartedly agree. The difficulty increase for destiny has eroded chill play. My partner has already stopped playing. And once my core group finds another game to chill in, we are mostly out. We are only going to do raids, basically. Ironically, raiding is more chill than patrols or lost sectors now lmao.

1 ReplyI’m a really old dude, my hands have got Arthritis (over 10 years now) I can’t handle the Platforming nor the Duck/Slide/Jive. It’s no longer Fun! I can handle the disappointment, but do you know who can’t? The kids that go to the Rheumatology Clinic at the Hospital. Those poor wee sods just want to be able to play a game with their siblings and friends, but their hands won’t let them. Inclusive Bungie? Aye right you are, disabled gamers are as invisible to you as they are to everyone else.

2 RepliesWayfinder is going to be in early access in May...Might be a good change. I'm going to be giving it a try. It looks like a lot of fun.
-
Yeah. I agree. I finally beat the campaign on legendary but I couldn't do every mission on my own. I had to get some help from a couple of friends of mine who are really good. Calus was hard although I assumed he was that hard because I wanted to complete the game on legendary. I couldn't beat him by myself on legendary. I'm curious what folks think on normal campaign.
-
2 RepliesBungie says: "we would like suggestions on being more inclusive for players who have various challenges" Bungie does: *even more ableist bullshit to make their ableist tryhards and streamers happy*

2 RepliesI'm an older gamer gal with arthritis. Can't drive my sparrow well or do jump puzzles to save my life. I cheese and hide as much as I can. The further away I can shoot things, the better. I take my sweet time in every mission. You can kill Calus by hiding under the bridge in the last mission.

16 RepliesEdited by Ghodzilla: 3/18/2023 9:59:44 AMI'm 71 years old and retired with over 8000 hours invested in Destiny. I am partially disabled with seven bullet wounds in my legs and shoulder, and shrapnel wounds in my right hand (Vietnam era injuries), but I still do just fine. My three guardians are all 1821 power. Whenever new content comes out, I watch videos and learn the encounters on harder content to make up for my slower reflexes and slightly diminished vision. Destiny was the first FPS I ever played because it was the only FPS I found that allowed you to use strategy, terrain, and situational awareness to make up for fast twitch skills, especially in PVE. Playing with my clanmates really helps, as well. I was trained as a sniper, so I tend to play back on harder content, and I also focus on staying alive so we don't wipe. Knowing when to rez your teammates and when to take cover and stay alive is important. For older players who are struggling, I would suggest leveling a bit first before doing harder content. A couple of days grinding easier stuff to increase your power will help. "Even though in this world we may know grief and suffering, our dreams shall never die." 19 RepliesEdited by Geist: 3/18/2023 12:12:03 PMOP if you ever want help just ask. I can get you through. Too many try hards here with swollen egos downplaying another gamer. The game is in a trash state. And a rift is forming. Not everything needs to be annoyingly difficult. Not every player is sweaty or wants to be sweaty. Being nice isn't hard. I'm really in the minority of wanting to help it seems. But I prefer to use my experience FOR others instead of belittling them.

17 RepliesGame has become watchable. They want you to buy a videogame that you don’t play, just watch. Watchable! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! It’s beyond laughable. They say they’re listening, and then nerf Divinity. Make it more watchable! Hahahahahahaha! Beyond laughable. Welcome to hollowness!

Im almost 50, i can't fully relate yet but i do get what you're trying to relay. Hand eye coordination isn't what it used to be at 25 and the doodoostains who live on this game will be there one day. The players with the big egos and elitist attitude on here are the ones who are irrelevant outside the game. Find cheeses and use them to your advantage. Majority of the ones I've ran into on here are are garbage people, don't let em bring ya down to their level.

Edited by Kirka: 3/17/2023 9:19:19 PMWell try pvp. I'm a dad but not that old I guess. It's still aggravating to face people who are either cheating or look like they are . And you know I'm used to playing hard games finished every From soft game and back on xb360 did only bow challenge on DS2.. and played Nioh's too. And Call of Duty 2 online when it was a thing.. long time ago. And Destiny since D1. But this is.. I don't know what it is now. It's like there's something wrong with the connections? And I'm on fibre. Or maybe I'm just old and "mad coz bad". What's going on here?
