Calus is spongey AF, finally get to his 2nd stage, no checkpoint, and he boops you off the cliff. The hell were they thinking?

Edit: Thank you for all the tips, if anyone else has beat it please let me know the strategy. I was solo & running Queenbreakers to blind/stun the tormentors which worked great, but didn’t do great during Calus 2nd phase.

3 RepliesThe only way this fight is hard is if you let the Tormentors come with you in phase 2. So make sure you kill both before you enter phase two.

Use Strand and Witherhoard. During Phase 1 stick to a catwalk and unload on him as hard as you can, if a Tormentor pushes you, grapple over to the next catwalk. Phase 2, hit him with a super off the bat, then keep him plastered in Witherhoard whilst you run laps around the arena, grapple can be used to escape tight spots and Witherhoard can also be used to clear some of those pesky Psions. Just stay mobile and you can ignore the Tormentors entirely 😁

1 ReplyNot only calus boops you off the platforms. Its such an aggravating encounter. When you kill him you get a 2nd phase oh how fun. Luckily there is a checkpoint in case you get slammed to death in 1 slam....oh wait there is no cp. Fu bungie

I died a bunch but my killing attempt I stunlocked his 2nd phase from full to dead with Leviathan's Breath.

Stasis warlock makes it pretty easy

Absolutely and since I don't actually HAVE strand yet, I can't really set up my build to compensate for it. I was really looking forward to this as well, but the boss fights are always the worst bit.

i used quicksilver storm, king's fall's fusion, and the timelost corrective measure. strand is defo part of the key, cause in second phase you're meant to fly around to avoid calus in phase 2. calus is extremely weak in phase 2 however and could be widdled down with enough patience, and ads spawn but it is only psions, so just keep the patience in and melt him if possible

2 RepliesAll I did was clear one of the lower platforms and shot from there; using either side of the higher platforms for when he launches projectiles over the area. The second phase just kept distance and took my time. The edges and getting knocked off repeatedly is such a cop out with only one revive each.

Definitely needs a halfway checkpoint

Wasn’t too bad - we hung out on the edges with quicksilver then just super dumped him at the end.

3 RepliesEdited by Tru-Zrue: 3/1/2023 10:48:19 AMOn legendary? Hell yes it was annoying with hunter. The tormentors really did it for me tho. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it for the most part but man I hated using strand to beat it, tormentor, and somewhat the platforming. Edit: ghorn was useless when I used it. Guess they really did nerf it.
