So, after today's reset, I see Crow hinting at becoming the Hunter Vanguard.
I like the guy, I'm well past Uldren killing Cayde, but Crow is NOT Vanguard material, a Hunter Vanguard should be daring, fearless and all around a fun guy.
Crow is neither, and I'd rather be Vanguardless for ever before him becoming it.

Edited by SuperTony: 6/14/2022 3:03:59 PMExcept the job is none of those things. It's a duty that every Hunter is afraid of. That's why the Vanguard dare existed. Simply wanting to take on the role as role makes Crow overquailified.

yeah crow is to young in guardian years eris is better served as our resident witch shiro is somewhere and anna is the current head of vangaurd science a position once held by asher mear before he was MIA / KIA unles he comes back he cant do both at the same time

10 RepliesIt should be Ana it always should’ve been Ana since the day Uldren pulled the trigger. Think about it, how long has the so called legendary Ana Bray been one of the most well known Hunter figures in Destiny? It only makes sense for someone who has actually been a Hunter for a long time, and a great one at that, lead the Hunters as Vanguard.

9 RepliesCrow is some baby gaurdian with no knowledge about anything, and hes a major edgelord i liked uldren more then crow. Crow is a damn wimp. Anna bray is a better candidate

Edited by Natdeguerre: 6/5/2022 2:47:36 AMNow that he got Uldrens memories back and sort of accepted that past as his own, he may actually be capable enough. I’m not so sure Ikora would be able to deal with him being a fellow vanguard though. Zavala, yeah, he made his peace, but Ikora idk… . No other hunter npc has gotten as much character development apart from Elsie and Ana perhaps and those two have each their own path it seems. Personally I’d prefer Crow as a rogue style character that crosses your path in the wild from time to time, the original idea, really. Not the court crony or Tower newbie.

4 RepliesEdited by ♤ TeaBags0614 ♤: 6/1/2022 1:56:14 AMOn top of that, Crow shouldn’t be responsible for Uldren’s actions so he isn’t responsible for Cayde’s murder I think Shiro-4 makes more sense

6 RepliesI had a feeling he’d be Hunter Vanguard from the moment he was brought back. That said, it feels lazy. I’m hoping a friend of mine is correct, and that Crow will become the next Speaker. The entire Hawkmoon quest and the ship that went along with it was proof that Crow had an unusually deep connection to the Traveler. And with the arrival of the Black Fleet and so many Guardians wielding Darkness, it seems like exactly the right time for a new Speaker to rise and give everyone some guidance.
-
6 RepliesThat would be a bigger disaster than IB Rift and Solar 3.0 put together. I'd drop the game without a second thought. That'd be my choice - I don't care what anyone else does or says.
-
2 RepliesToo bad in Canon every Hunter is too much of a coward to step up

Edited by Avelithe: 6/6/2022 9:38:56 AMI’ll bet people said the same about Cayde-6 after Andal Brask died. Ikora and Zavala always gave me the impression that they weren’t thrilled to have Cayde on board in Destiny 1, ESPECIALLY Ikora, but it wasn’t like they had much of a choice thanks to the Vanguard Dare. 🤷♀️ Crow/Uldren more or less fulfilled that dare, so buckle up. It’s gonna get weird.

Too bad the tower and vanguard will probably be destroyed in light fall before Crow becomes the official hunter vanguard.
-
I'm actually with Amanda on this one. His habits are getting better, but accepting the issues of a murderer and then taking the man's position will not sit well. Given the situation with the Hawkmoon quest? I see Crow becoming a new Speaker though. He has had dreams of the Traveler which even we haven't had.
-
2 RepliesHe should take over Dead Orbit. He’d fit in there.
-
2 RepliesI just think he is a bit too new to be the vanguard, but he is literally the one and only Hunter in existence willing to be the vanguard so with the vanguard so desperate I think they will accept him. He was just saying he is going to try to pick up some of Caydes work and try to organize the hunters, it is a tall task and big boots to fill I feel like it’s a good chance to develop his character while he struggles to do just that and maybe we help him along with it
-
11 RepliesI think it will be a while, but eventually I think he will become the Hunter Vanguard. Hunters take that "Vanguard Dare" very seriously from what I've heard form the lore. They won't accept anyone else unless they've done the dare. That's how Cayde got the position, and that why Crow will most likely get it in time.
-
1 ReplyI don't want him to be Vanguard because then he'll go MIA or get killed off again. The Hunter Vanguard position is cursed af.
-
36 RepliesWhere in the lore does it state that a certain personality trait was a requirement for Vanguard Hunter leader??? In the lore Andal Brask didn’t seem like a fun loving guy at all. As a matter of fact Crow fits the job perfectly because he completed the hunter vanguard dare which means he automatically gets the Hunter vanguard job because he killed Cayde-6. It’s all coming together the way it’s supposed to.
-
It was awesome seeing the old uldren we just got two or three more people left
-
Ehhhh, nah. I think Crow would make a fantastic Hunter Vanguard, but that’s just my unpopular opinion I guess.
-
Edited by Retrofuturehero: 6/1/2022 1:32:10 PMI think that someone or ones in the writers room really want Crow to be Hunter Vanguard. It would fit thematically, in a making up for past sins kinda way. However Crow is too, young inexperienced, and most Guardians hate him for killing Cayde-6. Hunters are barely controllable by someone that they actually like. They'd never follow someone that they hated. Anna Bray both Shiro-4, make more since. Even The Drifter.
-
20 RepliesEdited by Ghostfire239: 6/1/2022 3:45:38 AMI’d prefer some one with actual experience. Crow is still a newbie and honestly he doesn’t strike me as Vanguard material. Shiro-4 would be the best choice . Plus it evens things out. 1 human, 1 awoken, and 1 exo. All bald. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
Cayde was daring and fearless, and it got him killed Crow would be fine has Vanguard, I just don't see the other Hunters respecting him yet
