Literally why would they make this weapon an activity specific... Arguably the coolest thing to be added in a very long time, and it's original and unique. Then they decide to make it only in the leviathan? Wtf
-
Scorch cannons, crotas sword, iron lord axe, relics from VOG and other activities. Event/activity weapons have been around since D1
-
Because it's relic, super strong, not supoosed to be an actual weapon for your equipment. It has been that way since D1. The scythe is a direct copy from the Iron Axe relic, which was a relic from the Rise of Iron DLC for D1 (the last expansion btw).
-
3 Replies? It's a relic...this concept is not new to the franchise lol
-
The Scythe is a variation of the Iron Lords Axe, something we've had since D1. Other examples are the Hive Swords, or the Scorch Cannon, the Javellin, the Spear we've used in the Last Season Activity ecc. Those are not Weapons designed to be loot/equip, only unique elements for Activities to use in that specific instance.
-
For now you can use it as a finisher.
-
Just like how the rise of iron forging hammer wasn’t? It’s not that crazy of a weapon if we brought it anywhere else, and doesn’t serve much use. As an ornament it would be cool I guess
-
The same reason other relic weapons like Sword of Crota, Kabr Relic, Scorch Canon, RoI Axe and Javelin aren't. No offense but this is a stupid complaint.
-
8 RepliesThis is not original or unique lol. It’s just a copy/paste of yet another D1 weapon
-
This is not a new concept

Plaguelands D1

-
New here ? This happen a lot
-
The same reason the arc staff thing last season wasn’t? I’m not sure what you all expect anymore.
-
Unless it's really good, let's not take away a slot for exotic weapon because legendary is enough
-
I'm reasonably insulted that it wasn't a Poison subclass super.
-
How is it that the Dust Palace is lost to us again?! Back in Cabal hands! Word is they've let Psion Flayers out of their cages, to dig around in the Central AI's Cortex. Which means they really want what's buried in there. If Rasputin was protecting it, it's valuable. We've got to flush those Flayers out.

I was thinking that the scyth would be a heavy ammo high impact form of the glaive that while not being able to block would instead empower its melee attack with elemental damage when guarding, it would be able to one shot guardians with the volley, while the melee would still require 3 strikes to kill a guardian its empowered melee would be able to 2 strikes instead. That being said they could also add a primary ammo lightweight form of the glaive that would have a better block that would be able to block melee damage though would have a reduced projectile damage requiring 3 shots to take out a guardian though would have a higher rpm to compensate.

Bump. biggest disappointment since the axe for D1..
-
As far as its design, it is unique. Would have been a cool weapon to keep, sure. Even its attacks are unique in just that it is a combined Bolt-Caster with solar (which is like the Trials sword, if I'm not mistaken) and the ground-slam fire trail attack the Rise of Iron axe would do. Unfortunately, because it does both of these things, that doomed it as to being a weapon players would get to keep.
-
It's the axe from RoI all over again. I didn't, for a second, think we would get it as a weapon.
-
4 Replies
it's original and unique
It was in D1
-
3 RepliesCan’t wait for synaptic spear for arc hunter
-
3 RepliesMy two cents: bungie are using the scythe as a staging ground for a potential new weapon either during or post-lightfall.
-
Best part about the scythe is hearing Eris cackle like an absolute psychopath.
-
2 RepliesIt’s literally the Halloween version of Rise of iron’s battle axe Same animation and everything
-
2 RepliesThey were going to release a new weapon type with a season, that much is obvious. That being said I do hope they turn it into a new heavy weapon type eventually (or turn it into a Hunter super)
