This seems a massive invasion of privacy for a game wtf is this and why do I have to agree to this to join a clan?
Why does it need access to my job history, my passwords, my creditcards. This seems insanely sketchy

Charlemagne is a bot that taps into Destiny's API. It's required to join [b]that[/b] clan because the clan founder set up the bot to work with the clan's discord server. It's not required by Bungie.
