Last week when I was playing, I randomly disconnected due to WEASEL and when I tried to sign back in, I was met with a message that read, "Not so fast. Your account has been banned. Please visit our website" or something like that. I was stunned but I thought it was an error of some sort. Restarted multiple times and even logged in the next day but still no dice. I've been playing Destiny since 2015 and not once have I ever thought about doing anything that would break ToS. I've never hacked, cheated, modded, or anything like that. I've spent countless hours and money on this game over the years and all of it is just gone. Just like that. For no apparent reason.
Under "Appealing a Ban" states:
"Permanent account bans and temporary restrictions are only implemented with rigorous checking by trained Bungie employees. The appeals process is designed to help us further refine our tools for detecting and punishing players who violate our Terms of Use and the Code of Conduct."
It just doesn't make any sense to me why I would be a target for suspicious activity? And for what? I rarely play Crucible outside of Iron Banner and even then I'm terrible at it. I haven't even went Flawless once in ToO in Destiny 2, so what gives? I've already sent an appeal last week but I have yet to receive a response. I know it says that there isn't a guarantee that I would get unbanned or even an email back but I'm just sad and confused because I didn't do anything wrong. I'm not a big youtuber/streamer either so I can't even get the attention from Bungie to actually look into this and see for themselves. Destiny/Destiny 2 is everything to me. I've sunk so much into this game and all of that is just gone and I'm just left here in the dark.
Has anybody else gotten falsely banned and had any luck with Bungie support? Would really like someone to help me out here.

Hello there, The forums are not able to assist with appeals of restrictions or bans. However, there is a process in place for you to appeal your ban or restriction. Posting in the forums cannot assist you beyond linking you to the appeal and speculation. Please review the Contact Form: Appeal Ban or Restriction article found here. Please note that, as mentioned in the article, there is no guarantee for a response, nor is there a guarantee that your ban or restriction will be overturned. The form is for appeals only, they do not answer questions as to why or how long. Requests for additional information, such as the length of a restriction or reason for a ban, will be disregarded. For more information on Bungie's policy regarding bans and restrictions, please review the policy here.

I had the same thing happen to me and the only program I had running was Razer Synapse 3 (as par for my keyboard, mouse and headset) This had been right after I preordered The Witch Queen, which is really a kick in the nads, because I had paid 100 USD on content i never got to play. after 498 days I had yet to hear back from Bungie as to even a reason for the ban, I was not in a fireteam with anyone at the time, I was just messing around in the cosmodrome. So based on the near 500 days that I have yet to hear from anyone as to even a reason, let alone a chance to appeal (yes my appeal was ignored just the same as everyone else's are) i can confidently say that it's time to say goodbye to the endless hours and money you put into the game, because almost as if its part of the company plan, once you enjoy it, it will be destroyed.

3 RepliesDo you have a cheat engine for single player games?

2 RepliesThe only way you get “falsely” banned is if you can prove without a shadow of a doubt whatever program you were running that got you banned is what shouldn’t be bannable. Point is you likely had a program running in the task bar or background, or had something running prior to launching destiny 2 that was still altering memory when you played destiny

3 RepliesFor most PC tagalongs: They are banned because SOMETHING installed on your PC was viewed as a POTENTIAL threat to D2 and those are PROMPTLY BANNED. ACTIVE cheats for D2 AND Cheats for other games can trigger this. (Cheat Engine, Borderlands Commander, etc.) The process for BANS and RESTRICTIONS involve reports coming in from players or their flag system towards an individual. The person at Bungie HQ reviews it. And they decide if it was warranted or not. Intentionally or not your account broke the rules. Ignorance doesn't exempt you from them. Your account is done.

1 ReplyBest thing that could have happened to you, now you can move from this addiction and start playing other games.

3 RepliesCould be for any of the following: -Cheating/playing with cheaters -Using/running unsupported programs (hacks, mods, trainers, etc) even if not d2 specific -network manipulation -ghost lobbies

1 ReplyThere must be some software that D2/Battle eye detected if you are playing on PC? Something got picked up and Bungie absolutely bans for this type of software. It makes no difference what game it was for if it somehow tries to interfere with D2 it will result in this type of action. Ban will be 500 years.
