Cheese Forever Score Exploit
Ok, I wouldn't normally do this (I feel like a total narc) but Cheese Forever (the youtuber) has discovered an exploit allowing him to score nearly six hundred thousand points in this weeks competitive playlist. He has done this by exploiting revive medals. His score (and any score over 400k, as it will definitely have used an exploit) should be removed from consideration when calculating this weeks top 10%
Failure to do this would invalidate the entire thing.

Nah bruh. They will fix it when all the favourite content creators have crossed the threshold. Then the rest of us will have to try to beat them. That's how Bungie rolls... Just look up any cheese from the past.

3 RepliesNot condoning the Lucent Hive cheese (or any cheese, for that matter), but there's honestly no reason to care. Think Mark, you're bemoaning the lack of competitive spirit in an event that I'd be preeeeeeeetty surprised isn't going to be given to the Warlocks since they're the only class that hasn't won yet. On top of the behind-the-scenes score adjustments, the reward is literally the same reward as last year (and the year before, I think?), The Heir Apparent + Catalyst. Again, I'm not cool with the cheesing, but this event was tainted anyway.

The platinum medal quest for nightfalls from Eva tells you how to increase your score.

so...doing something that provides bonus points in the strike is an exploit? If they didn't award medals for doing it, I get it - cheese forever. But it's in the game for a reason. Is killing all the champions in a NF to get a bunch of points an exploit? How about using meta's in crucible? If one person can do it, then anyone can do it. No reason to complain about it unless it's exploiting a glitch in the system that wasn't meant to be there

1 ReplyThe 10% thing is the failing. That and making easily exploitable scoring. Like it should have just been a threshold above platinum you had to get which was doable without exploit and if you did it all three weeks you get the emblem. By making it just 10% they encourage cheesing score like they have.

9 RepliesThat's not a good suggestion to fix the situation. Bungie isn't going to invalidate people's score just because it's high. It's possible to get to 400k legit without farming revives. The actual fix would be to discount EVERYONE's week 1 score and simultaneously remove the revive medal entirely. Then the competition would just be 2 weekends instead of 3. Simple.

It's in Bungie's hands to either come up with a new way of attaining the emblem or just let it be... Bungie hasn't engaged just yet on fixing the exploit... The damage for this exploit has already been done. Whatever magical cap you think will fix the problem won't, the top 10% will just be people who got up to that cap. The best thing to do is unfortunately not count this first week and hopefully release a server side change that removes the score from revives.

2 RepliesHe doesn't discover most cheeses...he just reports and posts about them. Players were doing this well before he posted the vid. Thankfully a lot of crazy exploits have been patched because of people like him giving light to them. Bungie 100% is aware of his channel and certainly watches his videos to see if something needs to be done. The only way to really deal with this scenario fairly is to not tally in this weeks score for the final and to remove the guardian angel medal for the next 2 weeks.

Edited by BadDay: 5/8/2022 2:50:56 AMBumgo should have made it more like gms with limited revives, but I don't see it as a exploit, bumgo set the rules, we get X points per medal, if you finish the nf in time and keep your score 🤷♂️ then you did it, now the points for revives is a little high... a little to high
