What gives? I can open Destiny 2 in the xbox for Windows app and my save appears. I see that my bungie account is linked to my xbox account (screenshot). But I can't log into my original account anywhere else. I recently got the Witch Queen DLC on Steam and want to move my original account over. Bungie is saying that I don't have an account when I try to log into my account via Xbox account.
I created this account as a temporary measure to submit this request. Has anyone had this happen and what did you do to resolve it?

If you have not created a Bungie.net profile using that specific XBL ID linked to it in the past, then it will request that you create a new Bungie.net profile when logging into Bungie.net with it. That specific XBL ID was never directly linked to a Bungie.net profile, thus it's asking you to create one. The evidence that it is not linked to a current Bungie.net profile is through checking its current information on Bungie.net : https://www.bungie.net/7/en/User/Profile/1/4611686018518978323?bgn=ALOBarnacles . It has no Bungie.net profile creation date, so it is not linked to a Bungie.net profile yet. If you previously had a Bungie.net profile many years ago when Bungie.net used direct logins with an email/password on-site and not through authentication to an XBL ID or a PSN ID, and did not set up the link for your XBL ID at the time it was available to do so, then your original Bungie.net profile is orphaned and cannot be recovered; you'll need to create a new Bungie.net profile.
