Xenology not progressing?
I acquired an exotic cypher xenology quest from Xur a couple days ago and have played several gambit and crucible games since then. My progress shows only 3/21 activities completed since then and I have done at least 6 gambit matches and 5 or 6 crucible matches since I acquired the quest. Is there some kind of bug that is causing the quest to not progress properly ? On Xbox user ID: ONECHRIS42183

My Xenology wasn't progressing either, then I found the problem: I had an Exotic Cipher in my inventory. Once I spent it the quest advanced as usual(you can't have more than 1 at once).

1 ReplyHere from 2 months in the future. I've always had the complaint that the quest should be changed to give progress for playing the mode and not winning. Now I see the quest says you gain progress for playing the modes... Except it has only counted my vanguard wins and none of my crucible losses, which means that there is still no reason to stay in games that should be mercy-ruled. So far, only wins have counted. None of them being from the Crucible, because those are mostly mercy ruled.

same here. quest is also bugged and not progressing for me even though I am completing the activities fully till it returns me to orbit.
