Crashing and freezing during the 30th anniversary update
So lately after the anniversary update I’ve had a large amount of crashes and freezes, when I join a friend my game will freeze and I’m forced to restart it but it doesn’t fix the problem, also during dares of eternity my game crashes during the vex and cabal boss. How come there wasn’t anything in the patch notes about this ?

I've been crashing in just about everything except orbit after about 15 mins in game for a few days now. I don't know what's changed but it's really annoying that this is happening just as I close in on 1000 hours on steam.

I’m not getting booted to orbit or anything like that. The game completely locks up and I have to close the game out. I’ve only noticed it when I’ve got a few bounties left to complete for the weekly challenge. I have not noticed it in any other game mode, just gambit. I’m on an XBOX One S. Could that possibly be the issue? I would think other game modes would be crashing the same way if it’s an issue with an “older console”, bit I’ve only noticed it in gambit.

The exact same thin has been happening to me, my destiny 2 has not crashed in forever but recently it crashed 4 times in about 2 hours

8 RepliesOh it’s definitely an issue. Problem is they won’t address it until late Jan at the earliest, since they are heading off to their routine month off. So it’ll get worse until it gets better. Then we will have to worry if they re-engage this issue with the witch queen setup patches in Feb.

It happened to me twice yesterday for the first time since the update. I was on my 6th win no loss in trials. Thank God we were still in orbit!!

Same It only happens in Gambit too for me. No noise, no anything, just completely frozen screen. Never happened prior to 30th update.

Been happening in pvp for a week, started clipping few days ago will post asap. The fact the game isn’t actually functioning means 30th anniversary should be refundable right?

Been happening to me constantly on ps5, seems to be something to do with the roster but also getting random crashes whilst doing anything

Game crashes on playstation about 50 percent of the time when loading in to trials and eternity.

Edited by infinity8: 12/20/2021 6:04:07 AMYep, same here. Yesterday I had 2 ctd during gambit. 5 matches - 2 crashes. I have a massive fps drop in the Tower and in the HELM. Weapon and armor menu works very slow. Sometimes it takes 2-3 minutes just to change mods. And if I want to see someone profile on steam during crusible or gambit match, my fps drops like in half, and it stays low, so further playing is impossible. Have to restart game. Bungie, the content update is good, but technical issues spoils all the fun.

Gambit is frequently crashing on me. Haven’t had it do that during a Dare yet.

I've been having a lot of issues. (Xbox player) Mostly the game freezes during Gambit, but I have also had it freeze in the middle of the first boss of The Grasp of Avarice dungeon. Really starting to get on my nerves. I always have to quit the game completely and restart. (Thankfully the dungeon has checkpoints...)
