I play on PC, I see a lot of people with this same issue and is there any fix for this?
Ever since this season released, I've been getting "Contacting Destiny 2 Servers" message every time I play, so I decided to check my ping and when I check my ping was fine, but my download speed drops to less than 10 mbps from 300+.
I then closed Destiny and then ran the test again and it was back to 300+, I thought maybe my internet was -blam!-, but no, so I tried opening up a different game specifically Nioh 2, and my download speed only dropped to 250-270 Mbps.
I'm not to sure why this is happening, as the game never game me connection issues before this update, I thought it might be servers.
TL;DR When I play Destiny 2 my Internet slows to 10mbps from 300mbps, and can't even play the game.
Want to know if there is a fix, or if anyone else is having these connection issues as well?
This is what it looks like for me when I found a fix for myself https://prnt.sc/1qp8mjc

1 ReplyI just started having this issue after the patch that happened early October. Constant "Contacting Destiny 2 servers" then I check download speeds today after finding your thread and noticed mine doing the same thing. I have my PC hardwired and get 300+ down but start Destiny and I was getting maybe 15 down. I did what you suggested by running the "Install BattleEye" again and booted up and ran speed test and now I'm back to getting 300+ down while running Destiny. Hopefully the messages and the Baboon error codes I have been getting since then go away now too.

1 ReplyI thing that it's caused by the huge amount of player that were online the first week. You shouldn't have this problem on the next week

10 RepliesI think I have fixed it, I went to steam settings and went to local files for Destiny 2 > BattleEye > Install BattleEye and game ran fine once again
