A Mentor has an answer that isn't wrong but is a bit dogmatic, so I’ll leave an answer despite the the discussion being 2 years old. It’s more relevant than it was 2 years ago anyways. To put it simply, paid carries are allowed in all Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 content. The CoC say that paid carries aren’t allowed, but this is not enforced and therefore is not technically a rule. Simply put, laws wouldn’t be laws if there were no measures to punish breaking said laws. Therefore, Bungie not enforcing things said in their CoC means that those things aren’t rules. There are websites dedicated to losers carrying other losers through poultry content. Finding the prawn who run these sites is effortless, yet Bungie lets well known carriers run rampant as the face of these petty paid services. Bungie doesn’t care if you cheat for the most part. But if you make a huge profit from cheating/selling cheats? They’ll sue you into the ground. Not to mention the leeches and bots who buzz around the companion app. They’re easy to get rid of too, yet they’re as plentiful as flys on a carcass. Summary: Cheating is allowed, but isn’t permissible by the CoC. They might ban you for it, but it’s not a rule so they might not. It’s an anarchy thing. Regardless, if you have any common decency, you just wouldn’t cheat. Edit: And to be very clear, all of the negativity, reasonable as it is, is directed solely at Bungie. NOT those that volunteer as moderators. These people are generally the only hero's you'll see in this community. The only ones with any meaningful sense of actual rules and justice in this otherwise terrible community. Thank you for your time, service, and effort to those of us who need it in such unruly times.
