I hope by the time this first week ends, Bungie will realize what a mistake it was to put VoG Master on 1350. Artificially increasing difficulty by increasing level of enemies by A LOT and adding more champions is not the right play. At this point, only your top tier teams will only be able to complete VoG on Master Difficulty and those who choose only to do Bounties for the entire season to get their light level highest as possible. It's kind of a shame, you have teams who are top tier who do World's First and actaully hit Day 1 completions, and then your have teams who can comfortably complete VoG on normal difficulty, those middle tier teams cant even make it past the 1st encounter. Realistically this is well harder than Day 1 Raid.

24 Replies'Master' VoG not 'Beginner' VoG. There needs to be endgame content for hardcore players as well. everything else is already catered to the casuals. See this as a chance to improve and become better at the game instead of ruining it for others that want the challenge.
-
1 ReplyRemeber when bungie actually used to make hard mode raids properly? They'd actually use raid mechanics and expand upon them. Not anymore. Clearly they don't want to put in that much effort. Or much effort at all, really.

1 ReplyI was hoping for contest mode to basically return.

8 RepliesVOG HARD MODE “Do you like endgame content, but also grinding +30 artifact levels. Well, I’ve got content for you!!!” Hard. PASS…

Edited by Radriar Herald of Finality: 7/8/2021 2:27:18 AMLet me just remind that d1 raids on hard mode weren't this stupid and no one complained, we dont need raids to become a activity only for the top 1% of players and by the way, for people saying that "some people shouldn't have adept weapons" yea i agree. People that mindlessly farm XP and call themselves good players shouldn't have adept weapons, only people with actuall skill, that also works for this dificulty, it should be a test of skill not of who can use a macro on PC or mindlessly farm xp on the moon

should of locked you at -25, no matter the light level you are

3 RepliesEdited by THA_3rd_GUY: 7/8/2021 11:52:00 AMI'm curious what's going to happen going into the future. Bungie usually replaces the current Raid with the next one in terms of relevance. If that's the case, then we don't even have to do anything to beat Master VOG. We just need to wait until we can increase our Power Level above Master VOG's without needing to grind the artifact.

4 RepliesIt’s is ridiculous that the light cap is 1320 and they put a +30 on the hard mode that is a hell a lot of bounty’s to do to get a +30 heck even a + 20 is a lot. If your at that light level you probably don’t have a job or kids… or friends or a dog or like to eat or take a toilet break … I could go on
-
It's easy, stop whining! Just look at all the streamers with stacked teams who do it without even trying. You just need to git gud or get a better gaming chair. Also, you should probably quit your job and do nothing but play for 16 hours a day. I bet even bakenGangsta could solo it, so it can't be that bad.

5 RepliesIt's not difficult or challenging, just annoying and a hassle As someone who got world's 38th day 1 VoG in Playstation, I can say Master VoG is trash
-
10 RepliesI’m 1342 and was getting one shot by almost everything that’s with a build better than my GM builds

Took my team 2 hours to beat. It's hard, but very doable. All I ran was golden gun, deafening whisper and black talon for all encounters.

3 RepliesMaster VoG is not meant to be easy. You are not meant to be on par with enemy levels there, you are meant to be underleveled. Hardmode raids in the ever so flawless D1Y1 were higher than max level cap, meaning you also only ever saw swords. Master VoG not having a contest cap I think invites more grind for someone later in the season who puts in the time to clear master mode easier. But truth be told this games leveling needs a rework rn anyways. I find it ironic how these forums go from saying "Fights have too many mechanics its artificial difficulty" to "Ugh This is too hard because the power levels too high"
Master VoG does have a big problem, and it's that the loot is stingy af.
1 ReplyI took a look at your stream and have a few suggestions to improve the Master VoG experience: 1. Don't use Trinity Ghoul, it is a great option for low man raid content because you are over-leveled and it can one shot most adds, making it able to clear out mobs super easily. When it takes 3 shots to kill a single add, it becomes much less of a useful option. 2. Use Champion mods on weapons to take out Champions more reliably. If you are on an encounter that has one type of Champion, every single member of the team should have that weapon on. There were too many instances of you trying to take down or avoid the Overload Champion and were unsuccessful because you didn't have the right weapon/mod on. The only instance where you would not use the mod is if you are on an encounter with multiple champion types such as Confluxes, I would run Overload while my teammate would run Barrier. 3. Stasis, stasis, stasis. The freeze abilities are extremely powerful. While you ended up switching to it, I would recommend your entire team use it for the first part. Warlocks have it best with a Stasis turret, but all Stasis abilities work well for add control. While other supers are better for specific encounters, Stasis is a fantastic option for any encounter with add control. 4. Use Blinding Grenades, these are extremely useful for add control. I used Blinding Grenades for all encounters of the raid outside of Templar and Atheon. 5. Warmind Cell builds also work very well in specific instances. It can take out an entire wave of trash mobs. It pairs very well with Stasis and Blinding Grenades for a very powerful build. 6. Spawn Kill adds. For example, when forming the spire, you don't need to stand on the plate the entire time, instead, have your team split up and have one person on each spawn point. Blind/Freeze them with Blinding Grenades or a Stasis turret, then wipe them out quickly. For other encounters, this will also be the key. For example, I found Gatekeeper pretty easy because I was consistently killing the adds in the portal on spawn using Stasis and Blinding Grenades. 7. Look for a team that is 1341+, that's the sweet spot. While this level isn't 100% necessary, it does help. Your team had a player as low as 1332 and 3 other players at 1335/1336. Having one or two players below 1341 can work, but having an entire team of them makes it harder. My team had one player at 1335 and it was clear he was struggling when compared to a player that was 1340 (although I suspect that was also skill related). 8. Remember it only gets easier from here. With any new activity (which includes new difficulties of the same activity), it gets easier with time. Not only will people get higher in power level (even if only by a couple levels), but the community will come up with optimal strategies for the playerbase to use. Above are some suggestions that worked with my team's completion, but I'm sure plenty more suggestions will be given over the next week or so.

You do understand the whole point of master vog was for top tier teams and people who were looking for challenge? As it is, vog is incredibly easy when it's not on master and some people don't like it. Now that there's an actual challenge you're hating bungie for listening? What's with you guys
-
7 RepliesLol! If you think the difficulty is bad wait till you see the rewards. ONE adept weapon PER WEEK PER CHARACTER? Yeah good luck grinding the god roll. Sub 20 gms are generally easier. Unless you need that guaranteed adept weapon because your RNG hates you I don’t suggest doing master Vog.

4 RepliesEvery day it pains me when I see the term ‘artificial difficulty’ used incorrectly. Actually just a meme now. Power discrepancy is not artificial difficulty. Artificial difficulty is something like an instant kill trap that the only way to know about it is if you already sprung the trap before and died. That’s basically it.

1 Replythis is not fun. this breed's paid carries. if you want hard, make a lfg team and don't use meta weapons.
-
3 RepliesI like the fact that Bungie makes something for everyone. Making everything easy is catering to lower skilled or casual players. This is for the high skilled to make the game fun for high tier. It’s not for everyone.
-
1 ReplyThat's the point of an endgame. All you're seeing is "me me me". If a niche part of the playerbase finnaly gets a bone you're all up in flames. The reward isn't even that great, it's a marginal upgrade to the other weapons. You know what this means? It means you're not forced to get it. It's an optional upgrade and not a must have thing put behind unaccessible content. This sort of aspirational content is what drives casual weekend players such as myself to get those weekly pinnacles in the hopes that maybe at the end of the season I'll be able to go on lfg and do seome grandmasters or master raids. Without this sort of stuff I'd be out as soon as the seasonal story missions end.

2 RepliesKeep this in mind next time you support a streamer in any way. They keep making content just for them.

Adept raid weapon for what tho ? Is it that much better than a normal one? Its just to flex it

It’s a YouTube/streamer made event.
