Firefly does more base damage than dragon fly and gives a bonus to reload, if they do what you suggest there will be ZERO reason to ever use dragon fly over fire fly

Firefly does more damage and has a larger radius than Dragonfly tho... it's true with Dragonfly Spec it does more damage but Vision also has superior stats In literally every column and can roll random perks and get things like Surplus to nearly max Stability, Handling, and Reload with just 2 abilities charged. You could also roll rewind rounds with Firefly to essentially shoot over 30 rounds without reloading (given you land shots) No matter what way you flip it the gun is better than the Oxygen and while I agree they should bring its perk back there are other ways to make it even better. If you main Warlock use Chromatic Fire for double explosions

No. The advantage to Firefly is that is has Outlaw built in. Dragonfly has greater damage potential with it's Spec mod. Balance has to exist or we get power creep and sunsetting again.

Allow me try to explain the reasoning behind this. Bungie wants all perks to have different viabilities and such. The reason that dragonfly speck doesn’t work for firefly, is to allow dragonfly have at least one advantage over firefly, otherwise dragonfly becomes a worthless perk. Remember. Firefly increases reload speed as well as creates a solar explosion. So in order to continue to make dragonfly viable, it keeps the mod exclusive to itself that outdamages firefly and has a bigger radius of explosion. I just wish there was an adept dragonfly speck, because I feel getting dragonfly on any adept weapon is a waste since the dragonfly speck mod is pretty much required to make it viable, meaning that you can’t put on any other adept mods.

They have 50 first-day VoG clears using nothing but a EYSTEIN-D kinetic pulse and don't understand why you think the game should cater to newb players like yourself.

For the time being we have Energy Accelerant. Sure its only this season but it still buffs your firefly

I've never been a fan of creating mods to power up a pre-existing perk. For dragonfly in particular, it feels like such a piece of garbage without dragon fly spec and because the mod exists, they haven't had any reason to improve it on it's own. You have people literally saying "just use dragonfly spec" when the base perk shouldn't be so worthless that you HAVE TO use something else to fix it. The artifact mods are different because they are supposed to empower a perk or build, not create a situation where it's actually viable. Like if they created a mod that said "all heavy linear fusion rifles do 30% bonus damage to ultra's," instead of just tuning linear fusions as a whole, I'd legitimately be pissed. And that's exactly what they did with rockets a couple of seasons ago, which was such a joke. Firefly is one of those perks, where it doesn't NEED a damn spec or mod to be sufficient as a perk. It's stronger than dragonfly in every single way, on top of giving you bonus reload speed for procing it. THAT'S how you create a perk people want. So no, don't give it a damn spec because then it's playing into the mentality that power shouldn't be in the perk itself, but what you use to expand it. This is why sunsetting was a failure for destiny, because they thought getting rid of our old gear to force you to grind for new gear would refresh players interest in the game. They wanted to use an artificial solution to fix a problem they didn't want to put the effort into to fix properly. Instead of making gear more interesting on it's own, they wanted to restart the cycle instead.

You do understand that firefly is "solar dragonfly with dragonfly spec" and a reload buff right? If you want a bigger explosion use energy accelerant from the artifact, but past that use what you have instead of demanding for a redundant mod that is 100% a waste of space and data

I talked to my clan mates about this before. it's pointless to have two perks that do the exact same thing. One just makes the other irrelevant. They need to be merged and changed to a single perk. I want a firefly spec mod too.
