Hello everyone,
Like many of you, I also have not gotten EoT to drop for me after many clears (49 to be exact). I've searched many times for what the drop rate is supposed to be, & how many clears it will take to get EoT. No one has an official numeric value, so I decided to use a little math & reasoning to figure out how many runs are required to get EoT. Here's what I found:
1) The starting drop rate percentage of EoT is said to be 5%. This is corroborated by many online sources & is in line with all the other raid starting drop rates (1K Voices, Anarchy, Tarrabah), so we'll use this figure.
2) According to Joe Blackburn (Assistant Game Director of Destiny 2), EoT DOES have drop rate protection. However, unlike where Anarchy (Scourge of the Past) & Tarrabah (Crown of Sorrows) got drop rate protection at 20 clears (5% increase per boss encounter completion) before their raids were vaulted, Joe Blackburn stated the EoT has drop rate protection for weekly account clears. This would mean that the drop rate only increases ONCE per week & is NOT tied to how many total clears you have done. Here's his tweet:

3) You can no longer delete characters & recreate them to reset the ability to farm raid rewards, so don't try it. This was patched on December 14, 2020:

4) DSC released on Saturday Nov 21, which means there have been 17 weekly resets so far since raid launch.
With this in mind, here's the base formula to determine the maximum # of weekly clears for EoT:
[(%chance) x (# of weekly account clears)] + 5% = 100%
OR
%W + 5 = 100
What You Came For:
* If the drop rate increases by 5% each week, then it'll take 19 WEEKS to get EoT.
* If the drop rate increases by 4% each week, then it'll take 24 WEEKS to get EoT.
* If the drop rate increases by 3% each week, then it'll take 32 WEEKS to get EoT.
* If the drop rate increases by 2% each week, then it'll take 48 WEEKS to get EoT.
* If the drop rate increases by 1% each week, then it'll take 95 WEEKS to get EoT.
So, at this rate, it'll take you between 5 & 22 months at maximum to get EoT! Now that you know how long you'll have to hold out for, get to farming!!!
...
Anyways, hope this helps you.

2 RepliesHave you gone it yet?

1 ReplyDo you know if the drop chance increases after the first time you complete it that week, or does it happen the following week?
-
1 ReplyI sincerely hope its not a 1% increase per clear. That would be incredibly stingy.

1 ReplyI have 34 clears and I have gotten EOT once, but it was my second clear. I played with a guy that is in the 50 clear range but has 11 EOTs. Not sure what that says for your math (which is pretty impressive). I believe it is just that the RNG is all over the board.

1 ReplyThanks for doing the math! I’ve run it every week on 1 character (only play one). It’s prob gonna be a while for me lol.
