Xur Xenology quest (Exotic Cipher) no longer appearing for me
So, I was working on completing the exotic cypher quest a few weeks ago and had finally gotten 21/21 on the quest progress. Before I turned it in, I decided to go through and redeem some Triumphs I had been sitting on. I unknowingly redeemed the Triumph which provides an exotic cypher. So now I had a problem. I knew I could only have one exotic cypher in my possession, and I am now on the Xenology quest step where it says to visit Xur and complete the quest. So, I decided to abandoned the cypher quest before visiting Xur, and spent the cypher I got from the Triumph on an extra exotic engram. Then I thought I could get the cypher quest back from the Quest Archive. Unfortunately, that didn't work out. I couldn't get the quest back from the archive, and it has been at least 6 weeks since then, and Xur never has the cypher quest available anymore. Has anyone else experienced the exotic cypher quest not appearing? If so, do you know how to fix this?

I ended up switching to my Hunter, it showed up when I talked to Xur, and now I finally have a cipher! Now I know to never abandon the quest again. Also, I apologize for misspelling cipher so often.

1 ReplyIf you have an exotic cipher in your inventory, the quest won’t show up until you spend that cipher. You can only hold one at a time per account.

1 ReplyHave you checked the Quest Archive kiosk on all characters for any abandoned Xenology quests?

1 ReplyThe problem is you finished the quest, other than turning it in. So the system in place says you have done it this week you will have to wait until next Friday to get the quest again
