Edit: adding a link to a relevant Reddit post i made a few months ago. It is about the weapon recoil in Destiny 2 and it's worth a read - https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/hzk98s/reminder_that_controllerxb1ps4_has_50_more_recoil/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Change the weapon recoil with controller input in Destiny 2 back to either Destimy 1's original recoil, or make it the same as on PC. Destiny 1 on console has way less weapon recoil than Destiny 2 on console, or controller input on PC Destiny 2. I dunno who though this was a good idea, increasing weapon recoil for only controller input in Destiny 2, and leave it alone for M&K input, but that has got to be the single dumbest game design idea I have ever heard of, and I've heard of some pretty dumb stuff in 20 years of gaming. The only reason you don't hear about this on the DestinyTheGame subreddit is because this topic has been on the Bungie Plz wiki for years and as such, the sub moderators delete all posts that are already on the Bungie Plz wiki. But trust me when I say it, there is a keen interest in fixing this difference, and a lot of people are pissed off about it.
Second thing that needs to get fixed if console and PC are going to be playing together is the controller aiming and sensitivity options. I don't know if any Bungie employees who worked on the old Halo games are still at Bungie, but I was there for every one of those old Halo games. Destiny 2 has the same damned controller aiming and look sensitivity settings as those decades old console games. Many, many players heavily rely on the Traction leg armor mod in every game type, but the thing that Traction helps with is something that SHOULD be adjustable in the game settings menus. Traction isn't even good enough either, it's just a makeshift bandage for a physical injury that needs metal screws. Sorry for the weird reference. I am a paramedic by profession. Even with the next gen consoles (I have a Series X) the game doesn't feel any different, it just looks different. The core function of the game (aiming, turning, base movement) still feel the same as Halo Combat Evolved, a 20 year old game made for vastly inferior hardware and performance.
Do you folks at Bungie even play other games? Get with the program, it's going to be 2021 in a couple of days and Destiny 2 doesn't even have so much as a stick dead zone setting. I can't think of a better thing to do for Destiny, to keep the game healthy, than to add PROPER aiming and sensitivity game settings and fix the offensive, disgusting weapon recoil that controller input has that mouse and keyboard input does NOT have, and that Destiny 1 did NOT have.

Pc needs to stay on its own.. they can merge Xbox and psn but there’s no need for pc players to come in and further ruin the pvp
-
I really hope that crossplay doesn't allow pc with console in crucible. If they do then trials will truly die.
-
If there is crossplay between pc and console I will officially be done with this game. There is no reason for this. Xbox and PlayStation should have happened a month after Bungie left Activision. But pc and console are just too different to have crossplay.
-
1 Reply80% of the console player-base is going to disable crossplay if given the option(which they should have)
-
2 RepliesPS4 or PS5 100% don’t need cross play with PC. We got enough players it’s not needed.
-
I HIGHLY doubt pc will be included with crossplay by default. Opting-in (inviting a pc player into fireteam) will most likely be required like pretty much every crossplay game aside from CoD.
-
Good luck. Maybe eventually. Remember Bungie only patches things that give the player any advantage or make the game funner.
-
7 RepliesCross play is being implemented to appease streamers cause the pvp numbers are waning and Bungie wants streamers to keep making content to pimp this nasty drug addicted disease ridden trick to the masses so if they are at a disadvantage all the better that way azteccross can look like a god and up his streamer numbers.

5 Replieslmao sorry but the amount of xbone / x / ps4/5 users that are using Cronus for rapid fire no recoil and MnK on console is huge and a problem already. being shot by Mida's or crimsons and thorns to name the most common that seem to fire faster than weapons that have twice the firerate is rediculous at present. Not to mention Hunters that seem to have bungie/slingshot cords attached to overhead cranes bouncing about all over the place but never miss a shot. Yes there are some shit hot players who are just that good and I know some of this may be down to lagg but not all the time
-
13 RepliesHave you pumped up your frame rates in your settings? And have you pushed the fov slider all the way out? If not this will change the feel a lot.
-
As far as I know, the Halo veterans are all on 343i and Ubisoft, so I'm afraid that the Destiny 2 staff is now quite small, it is talented of course but the current direction is quite dire in many ways, I do not know who He will be in charge but of course it is clear that good decisions are not being made. A very hard year is coming for the game in terms of competition so you better start to get to work
-
At least in halo putting sens on 10 let you spin like crazy at full stick tilt. 10 in Destiny feels like pudding comparatively.
-
2 RepliesAs a console player I feel like there are plenty of great controller players on pc. I don’t mind crossplay and honestly look forward to it. The biggest advantage at the moment is the FOV of 105 and 120 FPS on next gen vs 30 FPS on current gen.

3 RepliesI played some Halo MCC games yesterday, I like how they adapted the options for controller. These "detailed" option you wrote about, are also there. They also got a platform/input based MM, where you can choose the regions (forgot to choose EU, first game was with East America probably with a ping about 150 or more) But yeah the fact, that there are 2 different recoil systems is kinda weird and pathetic. Probably one of the reasons why the "skilled D2 players" think they are "pros". I mean dudes you are playing with "aimassist" on MnK and no recoil.
-
5 RepliesI disagree with the stability thing. Pc should be brought down to our level. Add all the recoil. I do however would like more control options. I really liked the dual zone option in overwatch. Basically half sensitivity for slight movements of the stick but full sensitivity when fully tilted. Would help with sniping without sacrificing movement capabilities.

1 Reply1. anti cheat 2. ddos protection 3. separate controller and MnK
-
I think Bungee's biggest problem is replacing the 50 or 60 percent of console players who quit PVP or perhaps the entire game.
-
I agree. They're lacking in controller and movement options
-
3 RepliesTestify! Does console controller really need double The Recoil of mouse and keyboard?!
-
1 Replyshort version, cheat problem, and AA nerf in general

Preach!!! Agree with every point.

Edited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 12/31/2020 11:44:45 AMFirst time I learnt d2 controllers have more recoil than mnkb I was genuinely flabbergasted. Which is pretty rare since the last decade in gaming has had enough dumb game design decisions made to last a lifetime. And I play on pc / mnkb. The sensitivity settings in general are extremely limited in this game, even for mnkb but sticks especially. Could use an update for sure to get out from the early '00s.
-
10 RepliesIt feels like there is no recoil on pc because of the mouse precision. It’s still very much there
-
Don't forget input based matchmaking.

2 RepliesThe single most important thing that needs to be done regarding crossplay is a toggle so people can choose whether opt in to it or not.
