Not to jerk myself off too hard but I’m usually pretty good at deciphering meaning behind lore tabs, but this hawkmoon one has me stumped, can somebody like put it into layman’s terms?

Hawkmoon lore:
What is this feeling? I did not ask for it. I do not understand it. I do not want it. The Crow is so carefree in his ignorance. The bonfire's glow lights up his pale features and I am drawn to the hope in his gold eyes. Where is the despairing child I anticipated?
An unknown being is observing the Crow.
He drinks from an open bottle of wine against the recommendation of his Ghost. The Guardian encourages him and they are laughing. This celebration is maddening; neither have reason to be so jubilant. Their world is ending and they thrash like dying creatures in the final light of collapsing stars. They do not seem to acknowledge the futility of their existence, the impermanence of it in the face of cosmic annihilation. Now the Guardian is drinking, standing close to the fire. Their Ghost, too, encourages them not to partake. They poison themselves for the enjoyment of it.
Considering it is maddening and built up like this? The central character now is either Savathun or Xivu Arath.
I am reminded of my sisters. Of moments spent by lapping shores, gazing up at infinite stars full of possibilities and wonder. I am left yearning. What is this feeling? I do not understand it. I do not want it.
Same conclusion as prior.
They are celebrating their victory over the Taken. The Crow is making a gun shape with his hand, swinging the nearly empty bottle of wine around in the other like a Sword. The Guardian looks pensive, sitting on a rock by the fire, contemplating the secret they are keeping. The Crow notices, but tries not to show it. He wants the Guardian's spirits to be lifted. He wants to be supportive, so that they may share in their triumphs together. As equals.
pensive- to engage in deep or serious thought. Same person observing.
I am reminded of my home. I am reminded of the warmth of the sun and the embrace of my family. I am reminded of my father's face. I am reminded of everyone I betrayed. All the blood spilled in the name of immortality. The warmth of the sun burns me with its memory. What is this feeling? I do not want it.
We, as our guardian, are reminded similarly to how Eris morn got her memories back. This is a trick of the darkness. To share our former memories of mixed happiness and sorrow until you become disillusioned and start down darker pathways with the eventual reality of being haunted by what you have done.
The fire has nearly died. The Crow fell over and cannot stand, though he insists he is fine. The Guardian is turning the embers with the tip of their Sword. The Ghosts are talking to one another in quiet conspiracy. The celebration has ended, but I can sense their emotions are mixed: complex and myriad things, when a simple, singular focus would suffice. There is a growing kinship here. Against better judgment. What is this feeling?
The observer is back and they are seeing this. They are questioning becoming close. Too close. Which is why a simple victory wherein we gather trust in someone who helped us attain hawkmoon becomes betrayer later on. The simple truth about this? Uldren still has not been told. And that secret will lead to darkness. Same as those who say, "I could have gotten hawkmoon alone" not realizing the point of a fireteam is to attain the pinnacle reward of beating our enemy(-ies) with a show of multiple guardians (any greater then 1) working for the eventual goal. Likewise? Those who say we should embrace uldren are fools. Simple fools who should never have a choice on the decisions being made. In the end? The dredgen, FWC, and DO messages are all correct: Learn to fight everyone, learn to survive without aid, or learn to die. Three options and they are non negotiable.

Edited by SomarYNot: 12/18/2020 9:33:49 PM“I’m...somewhere. I know that’s not helpful. It’s a ruin, on Earth, I think. I’m flying, and there’s these...towers and...ships? I land on a broken concrete pillar, and I see...myself? But it’s not me. I don’t think it ever was. I’m saying words I’ve never said, and...the Guardian is there. Yes. that one.”
E3 2013 trailer "Out here in the wild"
3 RepliesEdited by Dancing_Downer: 12/17/2020 2:48:44 AMThe Guardian and Crow are getting drunk and probably re-enacting Princess Bride, because guardians. Savathun is crying in the corner because she misses her sisters, and the guardians aren’t suffering. She’s trying to learn regret, but she already knows 4 moves. Unfortunately the Hive gods spent too long IV breeding for the perfect move set to stop now. Got side tracked there near the end, but The Guardian and Crow are drunk and Savathun is contemplating her existence because friendship is a concept she doesn’t know. Edited because I said EV breeding and not IV breeding.

3 RepliesAfter we get the Hawkmoon crow and the young wolf celebrate by the camp fire. Drinking and reenacting the events for fun Somehow savathune watches us and feel confused. Questioning why we're so happy, and what this feeling bubbling in her chest is It seems that savathune is feeling... Regret for lake of a better word. Regret of the life she's chosen and the family she destroyed TL;DR: we party with crow, savathune watches and questions her feelings

1 ReplySo Savathûn was bored so she turned on the TV and there was a show playing about Crow and the Guardian chilling and drinking wine. Then Savathûn starts crying and eats ice cream because she doesn't know what happiness is
-
8 RepliesSavathun found the idea of having a laugh with a mate weird but attractive. She’s going to move towards the light just as we’re moving to the darkness. It’s entirely possible we might have more in common with her than we thought - or at least end up with the same powers.

5 RepliesWait, people read the lore stuff? 😜

It's from Savathuns perspective. Shes chased power for so long that she forgot why she did in the first place, which was to protect all she loved. She talks about her life on Fundament and the days before the lands fractured and she brought worms to her Krill people and manipulated her way to the top.

It’s Savathûn. She’s watching us somehow.

1 ReplyIt’s savathun watching crow and another guardian around a campfire. To me, it seems that she is watching through the hive knight sword as it’s the only darkness artifact around. Savathun feels jealous of crow’s companionship and wants to return to the time when she and her sisters lived peacefully.
