What order, from deadliest threat to least, would you rank the fallen, hive, cabal, vex, and taken, and why?
-
1. The Vex, at least in my opinion, they have the greatest potential to destroy humanity. They're constantly simulating, constantly evolving. All it would take is for another enemy to put the guardians in a position of weakness. At that point, the Vex could easily swoop in and finish us off before eventually conquering the entire universe. 2. The Hive, they have a ton of features that make them a pain for guardians to deal with. Not only that, but to defeat a single Hive with extreme power, we had to sacrifice one of humanity's greatest assets. If the hive continue to grow and conquer, it will definitely get to a point that humanity won't be able to fend them off anymore. Their darkness will eclipse the light. 3. The Taken, as much as they're incredibly dangerous and have a lot of potential; they're reliant on other beings to coordinate themselves. That's a bad position to be in. However the powers they possess more than make up for their potentially fatal flaw, and as long as they have a strong leader, they could do some serious damage. 4. The Scorn, they're pretty much medieval fallen with advanced magical abilities. The fallen are great in number and have some nifty tech, pairing that with necromancy and other forms of dark magic, as well as fanatical belief. Well, now you've got dark crusaders with no apparent weakness other than their relatively small numbers and sphere of influence. 5. The Cabal, their numbers are unfathomable yes, which allows them to achieve a lot through brute force and numbers alone. However, they're relatively unskilled and don't possess necessarily advanced tech, or any real magic. Overall, their potential is extremely limited and they're more of a nuisance than a threat. However, given a boost in tech and a truly intelligent leader, they could easily thrive and move up the list. 6. The fallen, very similar reasons to the cabal for this belief. However, their leaders are incompetent and chances are, they'll end up being allies with humanity anyways so they won't even remain a nuisance for long.

Edited by lanthanien: 12/20/2020 10:20:08 PM1. The Hive. They are the antithesis of everything a lightbearer believes and fights for. They, along with the Vex, have the ability to drain someone's light. If they invaded the City with a force comparable to the Red Legion, we would be doomed. Oryx still is the greatest threat we have ever faced (except for maybe the Red Legion... they were a little more of an urgent threat tho). The Hive must be exterminated if we're to survive. 2. The Vex. Time travelling war machines that want nothing less than total universal control. They will not spare humanity for their goals, they need to be wiped out. The only thing we have over them is our ability to control the Light (and Dark), which they can't simulate in their battle-sims, so they're never truly prepared for a battle with a Guardian. The Vex must be exterminated if we're to survive. 3. The Cabal. Though Calus is our "ally", the Red Legion - as of late - have been the only adversary of ours to successfully invade the Last City. Leave it to the Cabal to brute force their way to the Traveller and steal the light. Psions also carry a lot of the weight here for the Cabal, super geniuses with mind powers are scary, especially in the service of warmongers. The Cabal will probably become allies of humanity, or at the very least they'll stop trying to conquer the solar system once they realize it's impossible. We barely fended them off from the City and we destroyed their starkilling spaceship. 4. This is hard, but I'm gonna say the Scorn seeing as The Fanatic is a very hard person to kill. You could make the argument that the Fallen deserve this spot because of House Salvation's control over Stasis, and the lack of leadership amongst the Scorn. However, they are without a doubt stronger than their Eliksni brothers and sisters, mostly because of the necromancy. The Scorn must die. 5. The Fallen. They're a shell of what they once were, and I see them becoming our allies for their sake. The House of Light has already been formed. Eventually the Fallen will pose no threat to humanity and will likely start living amongst us. House Salvation is a joke, Eramis is a pretty ice statue now, and all of her generals were wiped out by the Guardian. The Fallen, at this rate, are going to go extinct if they don't start discussing peace with humanity. When they had control of Siva, they were a lot more fearsome. They've fallen off hard (lol) 6. Nearly forgot about the Taken but they're basically just the Hive's pets. Without a Hive god for them to follow they're aimless, feral animals that pose a threat only to average joes. When they're following Oryx or Savathûn, however, the Taken are a force to be reckoned with. They're either the weakest or the strongest depending on your perspective. They're annoying as -blam!- to deal with tho so I'm ranking them last. I hate the Taken. Especially taken psions. lol wall of text whoops. idk how to shut up
-
Everyone saying Taken as though they aren't entirely dependent on the will of a Hive god to be threatening/coordinated. Very few Taken have some independence, with Quria, the most notable of these, still being under Savathûn's control. Vex are by far the most dangerous because they have the ability to time travel or jump timelines, making it possible for them to just erase everything we've done/will do. Plus we still haven't seen combat forms and they messed up Oryx's throne world real bad, giving him and Crota a hard time

Edited by ThatOneGuy: 12/15/2020 5:05:37 PMTaken are on top. Hive are next. Taken is like an infection, one that could be deadly to us. Hive because there are hundreds of thousands of them, and they could easily overwhelm us. Next is Vex. If they figured it out, they could literally make it so that guardians never existed. The Cabal are more concerned about what's going on outside our system, and the Fallen mostly only fight amongst themselves.

1 ReplyDid everyone forget about calus’ daughter? Now that daddy jumped ship she’s free to do whatever and first act of business is to reunite the red legion. And we all saw what a united red legion could do with Gaul’s iron rule but she’s got superiority by birthright!
-
Rank: 1. Taken 2. Hive 3. Vex 4. Fallen 5. Cabal
-
Well basically everything is lesser so there is no point in ranking anything since we have plot on our side and havent lost.
-
In several realities in which the paracausal Light and Dark face off, the non-paracausal Vex win in the end a majority of the time, across several timelines and realities. Conquest, sought through assimilation from an ever expanding simulant existent AI radiolaria, Vex are truly fascinating and terrifying and are probably the largest threat aside from the pyramids.

5 RepliesEdited by Vegan Superhero: 12/13/2020 6:01:06 AMCabal: Goofy, Laughable, Boring and cliche ultraviolent faction with super weapons or stupid plans that never work. Yeah they captured the city, but they quickly proved they lose ground as fast as they gain it with Gauls incompitance, or in other words, cheap writing. If Calus was his own race, he would be top teir, but his people suck. Threat Level - Abysmal Fallen: Potential to be best villains, yet are almost always poorly written/presented in game. They currently exist to be slaughtered in universe. Threat Level - Tracking Rounds piss me off Scorn (edgy fallen) - Better than the fallen automatically because their leadership actually helped kill a CHARACTER on screen. Which will never be seen again in Destiny because all the other characters only have character in writing. Otherwise, they probably, smell? And their ground troops are some of the more fearsome in the game overall. But as of now, they're simply irrelevant. Bonus points because their leader didn't just die instantly. Well, he did, but he walked it off. Threat Level - Even Saint-14 would die from Screeb's Hive - Squishy bugs with all the lore. Only above fallen because their gods are chads. Bonus points for building an entire fortress in a year without it being noticed until last second. Threat Level - Splash Damage Vexxx - I literally know nothing of how destructive the vex could be with their epic and balanced time abiltys, evidently neither does bungie because its normally underwhelming outside VOG. There on the level of, they could be a major threat if they actually tried. Maybe they don't have too. Maybe they already won? Nah they suck, and just an extra personal opinion, the lack of little bits of charm from all the enemys (like in halo) kind of sucks, but it sucks more with the vex because they can't have character because they're robots. Threat Level - Lazy Skynet Taken - Most annoying faction, but the have more ground to stand on than most other factions in terms of having the strongest leadership chain in tact, although they are basically under the same banner as the hive, they have proven to be more deadly and effective than their squishy allies. Too bad big daddy Oryx died before he could actually do some damage, also in game, the best reason for Savathun having his taken power is just 'Because', as far as I know. Threat Level - Very Big I Think I cant read, it says lore wise and I completely ignored it and just did a mixture of both. Oh well, this only took five minutes of my time :b TL;DR Cabal? Stinky. Fallen? Eh. Scorn? Better. Hive? Useless. Vex? Lazy. Taken? Spooky. Hotel? ________.
-
Fallen: Threat: Absolutely nothing. Cabal: Threat: Absolutely nothing. Vex: Threat: Absolutely nothing is unless they actually send stronger units. Hive: Threat: Absolutely nothing unless bungie makes them become a threat.

2 RepliesVex, they have ontological weapons. Your ghost cannot revive you if you are completely removed from time. The Vex don’t just kill you, they kill any proof you ever existed. Everyone forgets you, you are just plucked entirely from existence. The Hive are also scary, they can kill a guardian in such a way to drain their light, making it so they can’t be resurrected. But at least they don’t kill the very idea or memory of you, too.
-
Shotgun apes r there biggest threat But seriously I’d say hive cuz it would be vex but no one knows their leaders n that
-
In this current time in Destiny- 1-Hive: with Xivu Arath making Wrathborn there actually a pretty big threat 2-Taken: as seen in the Hawkmoon quest, the Taken are quit active and it seems like their trying to stop us from doing anything related to the Traveler 3-Vex: their killer time travel warbots. What else is there to say 4-Fallen: that thing with Eramis could of been bad but we put a stop to it. The House of Salvation is still active so that's why their not Lower on this list 5-Scorn: aside from the strikes, public events, and raiding parties their really not doing much 6-Cabal: their literally "on their last legs in the system"

Edited by Lore Oradon: 12/13/2020 5:58:22 PMVex- Biggest Threat Cabal- Second Fallen- third Hive- Forth Taken- Five.

I say the fallen is a threat to us everyone else we damn near took out their leaders vex suck an just stuck in a loop since we always kick their ass the cabal lost everything taken/hive gonna lose next expansion the fallen is just more intelligent they know about the traveler more than the cabal did.

2 Replies1 being most dangerous and 5 being weak: 1: Hive because they seem to be able to successful harvest light and twist it into something else for their experiments. They also have many worlds and realms under their control and the ability to twist allies into enemies is also frightening. 2: Vex, time traveling robots, enough said. 3: Fallen, their desperation and connection to both light and dark is of concern. 4: Cabal, straight forward but have strong weapons. 5: Taken, they are puppets and need direction, without it, they are vulnerable.
-
1. Taken 2. Vex 3. Hive 4. Scorn 5. Fallen 6. Cabal The Taken are, in my opinion, the biggest threat. Even though Oryx is dead, they are still gaining Taken somehow, they can show up anywhere, they still have The Dreaming City, there are currently a bunch in the EDZ, and their Knights are OP as F. Vex are still a problem, because they’re on every non-earth planet(Tangled Shore and Dreaming City excluded, they’re not planets), they can go into different realities to get back dead Minds, and Vex Milk is still everywhere. Hive are the 3rd worst problem, they lost their stronghold on Titan, the moon is crazy bonkers, and we have killed most of their leaders(including a worm god! Nice!) Scorn are pretty much no problem, even though Fikrul can Rez himself, we can still kill him fairly quickly, we killed their leaders, and we are constantly killing more. Fallen are reaching no problem, their Houses are pretty much extinct, House Salvation is pretty much dead, and more and more are fleeing to Spider. The Cabal are no problem anymore. We are literally wiping them out of existence.

2 RepliesHmmmm Hive/taken Vex Cabal Scorn Fallen I'd place Vex higher but our paracausal powers essentially renders them relatively harmless (still a great threat however). Ironically Scorn are actually more of a threat than fallen despite how little we see of them

Edited by Tilman G: 12/12/2020 3:28:47 AMIf by cabal we are talking about red legion, then they are at the bottom, if you mean all of the Cabal then fallen are at the bottom. At this point the remaining fallen are House Light, part of the leaderless House Salvation, or part of the leaderless and goalless House Dusk(or spider’s syndicate, but I believe he accepts all races and also they won’t do anything.). Their numbers are tied with if not less than humanity’s at this point the only advantage they have is a long lifespan.

1 Reply1. Vex, they are time travelling robots that were from a simulation, now they try to take over places and terraform worlds and pose a threat of which we don't fully understand. (Evil) 2. Hive, the Hive are evil bugs that feed from darkness and grow stronger from consuming things and devouring souls, also they could drain a guardians light. They pose a serious threat to all the aliens. (Evil) 3. Taken, ascendant anomalies taken to serve Oryx, dangerous due to being able to appear almost anywhere and also due to variety, they tie in with the Ascendant Hive. (Evil) 4. Fallen, the Intelligent bugs. At one point they had a golden age as the chosen blessed by the Traveler, of whom fed them ether which makes them grow bigger and stronger. A bunch of pirates and backstabbers who want the Traveler back, some are friendly but don't mistake them for your friends. (Neutral, possible ally) 5. Cabal, the warlords, empire builders that expand their military empire, they aren't your enemies necessarily, Calus is here to help us for some reason, the Cabal probably shouldn't be trusted either, no matter how friendly. (Neutral, possible ally)

5 Replies1. pyramids 2. vex 3. hive 4. taken 5. Cabal 6. Fallen 7. Scorn

Edited by Tâxx, Herald of the IRS: 12/9/2020 10:35:22 PM1: Pyramids I mean this is obvious 2: Hive/Taken These I'm putting together because the Taken are pretty useless without someone to command them, and the Hive are the only one who know how to fully control them. 3: Vex I doubt anyone actually knows how far the Vex can reach. I mean they can warp reality and manipulate time, they are the pinnacle of what non-god power can achieve. Even then they were able to simulate a future where the Darkness and Light both lost to them. 4: Cabal Currently the Cabal are fractured and not too much of a threat as far as i know, but at the height of their power they could blow up moons for fun. 5: Scorn Ranking the Scorn in regards to the regular Fallen is difficult. I don't know the exact conditions the Fanatic's ability to resurrect dead Fallen, but if he could bring ANY Fallen back to life then may god help us all. Ultimately i think the Cabal's massive fleet would make them a much larger threat though. What use is a huge-ass army if it's stuck on a planet that the Cabal can carpet bomb for weeks on end. 6: Fallen I have nothing to say on the Fallen except they're definitely survivors. And apparently very long lived.

4 RepliesMost of the other posters seem to feel the need to put the darkness/pyramids down as the first threat. I'd say that's debatable. In my opinion, the Darkness may not belong on the list at all. If the Darkness wanted us dead, we'd be dead. It could cause a second collapse, and wipe out most life in the system with little effort. While it's possible that it can't do that anymore, that it's initial clash with the Traveler during the Collapse weakened it as well, the disappearance of Titan, Mars, and Io indicate that it's power is still terrifying in its reach and extent. Then there's Savathun to think of, who seems to have come up with ways of subverting or monkeywrenching the darkness' communications and processes, leading us again to question just how powerful the Darkness is. Then there's the Warmind, reduced to a broken toaster in moments by the Darkness' influence. We're getting some conflicting messages about just what the Darkness is and what it can do. It seems that it's goals are different this time around. It wants to bring us (the guardians/lightbearers) over to its side. The question is, if it fails to do so, will it resort to pure destruction? Like the Traveler, it's acting more like a god-force from out of ancient myth, bestowing power upon loyal pawns and using them as cat's-paws rather than acting directly. So while the Darkness is bad news writ large and could be the only real threat to speak of, I'm gonna leave the Darkness off this list entirely and say that threat #1 right now is the Vex. Lore and other bits of information suggest that there are other timelines, entire alternate dimensions, where the Vex basically own the Galaxy and are the only dominant life form, that they have seeded Vex gates into every planet in every solar system, and seem intent on procuring total dominance by machinoforming every bit of matter in existence for their own purposes. They can teleport entire armies across vast distances, and seem to have some mastery over time itself, though are not capable of true time travel. They seem limited only by the amount of energy they are willing to expend in order to achieve a certain goal as figured by whatever passes for cost/benefit analysis in their minds. They're in the Bray facilities. They own Mercury and Nessus, decent chunks of Mars, Io, and Europa, and have recently created a foothold on the Moon. They are the only race to completely dominate any single planetary body, despite attempts by the Fallen and Cabal to establish beachheads on Mercury and Nessus which they use to raid for intel and technology. So, yeah, Vex are the #1 baddies right now. #2 goes to the Hive. Savathun's been fighting smart, Using the Taken to great effect, and has designs for the Darkness that possibly differ from those of the Darkness itself. Savathun's Song could be a means of corruption and control that could subvert the Tower from within. Lore indicates that the Hive themselves have been around for a long, long time, and are responsible for the extinction of numerous other sentient races, indicating that there are a hell of a lot more of them out there, but that they may not be withing striking range of earth, or may be tied up in other conflicts, specifically with the Vex. Even so, the Hive's ability to dig deep and reproduce with alarming speed make them a solid contender for second place. I mean, who the hell knows just how many soldiers the Have has waiting in the depth of the Hellmouth? Third is the Fallen, specifically the House of Salvation. While Eramiskel's defeat will throw them into chaos, they can still do a lot of damage if they get their act together quickly. Eliksni society is a volatile thing, and can go from merely dangerous to existential threat in a heartbeat depending on the whims and strength of its leadership. I'm personally hoping that Mithrax and Variks can get a coalition together that ultimately sides with Humanity, but that's a thing SO much easier said than done.... Fourth is the Cabal. While they are a fierce and militaristic galactic empire, the deposing of Calus and the defeat of Ghaul andf the Red Legion have left the Cabal either broken and leaderless, or in a holding pattern of sorts. Whereas they seem to rely on standard FTL or NLS transport, getting resources from the Cabal home worlds to Earth is probably a major pain, and the reason why the Cabal don't just own the system outright. Perhaps Calus' sister will take the reins of power and cause problems for humanity, but we have no clear word of what she's up to right now. Fifth is the Scorned. With the Barons dead, they seem to do little but raid and pillage in the Reef, and seem to have no greater ambitions than surviving as scavengers and bandits. Though connected intimately to the Darkness through their corrupted ether, there seems to be no indication that the Darkness' return.
