Bungie and Activision split killed this game!
Much better game with much better value when bungie was paired with activision. Can anyone name one thing better once they split?

1 ReplyActivision jumped off a sinking ship, and kicked Bungie to the curb for their incompetence. Destiny had the potential to be one of the greatest game franchises of all time, but Bungie decided to shit the bed instead.

2 RepliesAfter all the reports that came out over the years, detailing how completely inept Bungie's entire management is, I've stopped blaming Activision a long time ago and accepted that Bungie's biggest villain is Bungie itself.

22 RepliesNo, Bungie ruined the game. They are making more than enough money from it to put much more resource into it if they wanted to. They chose not to and then blame lack of resource for not making engaging content. For a game that's meant to be AAA, I've never seen so many players leave the game after they realise the cyclical nature of poor content and bad design.

11 RepliesPeople love to view Activision as the villain, but they kept Bungie accountable for delivering. Without Activisoin overhead, and especially without their supporting studios (like the ones that made almost every secret exotic mission in Destiny), Bungie can just slack off and fail to deliver without any worries.

The game is not dead, if it was the servers wouldn’t get overwhelmed by a live event Sadly though, the scale of the game is never going to be has big has it was with Activision,we will never see a Taken King or Forsaken again unless they partner with another publisher and get help -

Bungie were unable to meet the contractually agreed upon delivery schedule for updates / expansions, so they pitched EV to AV as a way to make up for the lost revenue from not being able to meet the contractually agreed upon delivery schedule for updates / expanjsion. Bungo then realised this was easy quick effortless money they could make. And now...the EV dress sim is end game, and actual game content is lacking in every regard other than gunplay (which is getting stale now tbh).

12 RepliesActivision is a garbage publisher in general, but they have the one thing Bungie doesn't. Money...and buckets of it. It's very clear that Bungie is operating on a shoestring budget that is probably eaten up by art and music...because the game looks amazing and the soundtrack is awesome, but everything else is completely lacking in a so called "AAA" game. The loot is starting to become as uninspired as Anthem's loot and it seems they just sunset half the game when you go in the director and have like 4 places to go, and there's really no reason to go to any of the old areas now. Activision had the wallet and kept the game going, but Bungie didn't like the fact that because it was Activision's money, Activision got to dictate the direction of the game. There were some rumors that Bungie crawled back to Microsoft, but haven't heard much on that front lately. Until they get a benefactor or publisher that can inject some cash into the franchise, we're going to see the same minimal content, bounty driven, nickel and dime season approach from here on out.

3 RepliesI can name two things that are better: core engine updates which we never got under Activision since they're the ones who forced Bungie to use D1's engine for D2 No money from this game going to Activision anymore You children have no idea who Activision is do you? They ordered Destiny 1's rework less than a year before launch, and they did the same with Destiny 2. They own the patent for an algorithm which detects problem gamblers in their games and encourages them to spend more money on lootboxes, they actively fight regulation against lootboxes despite the evidence it hotwire's people's brains in the same manner as gambling addiction, and when they were "funding" Destiny 2's development, over 200 million of that funding was for those marketing videos, not development. How about you schmucks learn to use google and think critically before whinging, Activision is the scum of the earth and shouldn't be given any respect by anyone, they're the PROBLEM with game development. As for why it's taking Bungie so long to upgrade things, I wonder if that has to do with the split costing them 140 million for the ip and an additional 20+ million for season pass revenues to activision for 2019, and Bungie is solo developing the game which will increase time. What did you get with BL? A new planet with dynamic weather and 2 new enemies, new game modes, core upgrades that Bungie has needed to do since D1 but hasn't been allowed to since Activision wanted money spent only to make more money, not to improve the game experience, and vaulting of old content that was taking up system resources without being used by anyone. For example, Mars was 5% of installation file size but less than 1% of daily player usage. That's called a resource sink. How about before you come up here whinging, you google activision's record and take a look at how hard game development is, you entitled brat.

They are making plenty of money. Also game pass will help jt tremendously. However game has drastically declined in many respects. Remember when we had frequent vendor updates, iron banner weapons and tweeks to crucible. Thats not even looking at much more content for the money.
